Don't forget that S.P's other Company is called "Smoke and Mirrors", very appropriate don't you think?

Naming it ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ obviously involved the same thinking as the one striker fiasco and the poor form of lashing out at fans expressing their valid concerns on Twitter and in person a couple of times.

‘So what shall we call this company that transfers money between the main company and back?’

‘Smoke and Mirrors?’

‘Yes that sounds brilliant.’

So much media speculation that Zaha and his agents are very concerned at Roy's lack of funds transfer budget and lack of ambition, that a move for him to be tested at the highest level, cannot be ruled out.
With so many clubs apparently wanting his services and player exchange deals + cash being talked about, rarely no smoke without fire and with so much opportunity out there, why would he not want to compete at the highest level, rather than face yet an endless relegation battle.
Wish him well I whatever he decides as probably, increased earnings with us perhaps is not his main focus.

The company Smoke and Mirrors Ltd was incorporated in 1997 and has been trading since then. This is way before any involvement in Palace from Parish. He didn’t start up the business, therefore didn’t name it, he was only appointed in 2003.

The truth isn’t as good as your quotes?

It wasn't suggested that SP actually USED the Company called Smoke and Mirrors, (not by me anyway) it was a way of pointing out how his mind/strategy might work

No wonder we normally dont start the season with a bonafide manager
complete joke
The new stadium wont look so cool in the Championship
Complete lack of ambition
Zaha will go , and so will Roy at this rate

I was thinking the same thing...so I might start another thread on the topic.

I agree though...the lack of strengthening is concerning.

Sounds rather like Del-boy, who was always 'going to be' a millionaire.

Ironic that he too came from south London.

It's a sense of entitlement. Most of the 14 clubs outside the 'big six' realistically just want to stay on the Premier League gravy train.

Fulham managed 13 consecutive seasons, and in that time got to a Europa Final, which they lost. After 4 years out, they have managed to get back.

Stoke did 10 consecutive seasons, and in that time got to one FA Cup Final, which they lost.

This is our 6th consecutive season, and we've already had a (losing) final in that time. That is about par I'm afraid. Be realistic, be happy - Palace fans have never had it so go for a sustained period of time (bar the late 80's early 90s)

To put what we have managed into context, Palace's current run of 6 years in the top flight makes them the 10th longest established team there:

1/ Arsenal (1919)
2/ Everton (1954)
3/ Liverpool (1962)
4/ Man Utd (1975)
5/ Tottenham (1978.)
6/ Chelsea (1989)
7/ Man City (2002)
8/ West Ham (2012)
9/ Southampton (2012)
10/ Crystal Palace (2013)
11/ Leicester (2014)
12/ Bournemouth (2015)
13/ Watford (2015)
14/ Burnley (2016)
15/ Brighton (2017)
16/ Newcastle (2017)
17/ Huddersfield (2017)
18/ Wolves (2018.)
19/ Cardiff (2018.)
20/ Fulham (2018.)

It's as good as it's likely to get, and we are punching.

Yeah I did actually think this season might be the season we go down because of Cabaye going and us struggling with other gaps in the squad and the funds running dry but there’s still a chance with a few astute signings. Unfortunately I think we’re not going to be able to cement ourselves more until we sell someone big and use the funds to buy 3 quality players. Until then it’s the same numbers in and out and that’s with not enough anyway as we know.

I still think that Parish may pull something out of the bag with Loftus-Cheek or Drinkwater on loan and one or two more decent signings but if not and we are relegated as a result I can see Steve Parish standing aside (by mutual agreement of course)

This season could have been different. We actually have a manager in place and he has been here all summer and most of last season. We had time to plan but as usual the season approaches our rivals make signings and we huff puff and do nothing.
