Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Got a hunch that RLC is going to want to prove himself with the new manager and not come back to Palace. So, that's RLC and Cabaye gone - 2 very influential midfielders. Should we start panicking yet Mr Parish?

Yep think there is every chance of RLC returning to Palace on loan - where he is in his career he needs to be playing week in week out. Being a benchwarmer will be no good to him and/or his England prospects. I'm sure he sees that. With Sarri coming in, he and Chelsea are going to want to be challenging, so more likely to buy than invest/take a chance in youth. Today's announcement on the signing of Jorginho would seem to support that theory and push RLC further down the Chelsea pecking order. A lot will depend on what happens with Hazard - so does he go to Real - if he's does as I have said before would not be surprised if Chelsea came in for Zaha. That said all the recent rumours seem to suggest Real keener on Mbappe. This won't become any clearer until after the WC Final tomorrow. So far as RLC is concerned if it's a no go - how about a cheeky loan offer for Mason Mount - Derby with Frank are sniffing but surely an opportunity in the Prem better for him and Chelsea. Personally I'd like to see them both at Palace next year with Zaha still in situ. Time will tell..!! COYP

Interesting watching RLC for England. He is getting into some good positions and making penetrating runs but then 'no end product'

In his post-match interview Hoddle was asked if RLC had to move, he said 'definitely, he needs to be playing back to back games for the next couple of seasons.' Chelsea won't offer him that. I'm a bit more hopeful that we might be in with a chance.

I understand new Chelsea manager loves to work with what he has and not buy in loads of new players. Just another factor on the minus side of the can we will we game.

I'm a bit more hopeful that we might be in with a chance. What we didnt need was RLC showcasing his talents in from of hundreds of millions of people, which he did but only in flashes. Its up to the player I would think, but he could slot into any team outside the big sides and play every week, I could even see him playing every week for Liverpool or someone like that. As a flair player you get better with better quality players around you, and I am afraid to say that the Palace midfield cannot match up against some of the richer clubs around of course. Can we even replace Cabaye with the same quality? If we had made a big signing already of a quality midfielder, maybe this is the intent someone like RLC needs to see to make a decision to come back for 1 more year. Who knows though, look at sakho - he fell in love with the club, and we got him in. You never know. Would be good to see a show if intent with a signing soon though, eh.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

He seemed to be reaching a good understanding with Zaha but signing someone like Wilshere or Shaqiri would at least have shown ambition. Of course, we may have tried and failed or needed Benteke gone to provide the cash
