BBC :

"Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson to BBC Sport: “In the build-up to the game, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We spent hours on a train stuck on the tracks. We lost Scott Dann overnight and Wayne Hennessey in the warm-up. The scenario couldn’t have been much worse. But I’m really pleased with the way we played and it was a well-deserved and valuable point.

“Some of our play in the first half was good. We asked a lot of questions. We should have had a penalty when Ben Foster brought down Wilfried Zaha. We’ve not been lucky there either. 0-0 was probably a fair result over 90 minutes. Neither side dominated for long spells.

“We said all along that when the new year begins and we get the January transfer window over, we want to be in contact. We don’t want to be as divorced as we were after seven games, when things looked a bit hopeless. I think we’ve got better over these last eight games.“

At least the wheels didn't come off our defence who would easily be the only contenders for MoM.

Off the bottom at last! We really missed Tomkins & Cabaye today with their strength & vision repectively after the way they've been playing recently. It may be just a point but an away one & also our second successive clean sheet - & Jules is heading for the magic 400 game mark. Some good saves by him too, kept his head. Not a great game but who cares?

We have no presence in the air up front without Benteke. It was the header he won (from the 1st. cross)last week which went to Andros for him to cross which resulted in L-C scoring. He could have had one today but I'm sure he'll score very soon. Andros today was poor and Wilf was hardly sighted after halftime. We definitely need another striker though.

Agree with this. Benteke has to play, but we need to get to the byline more and get some crosses in for him.

That's all well and good but only works when Benteke can be bothered, when there are players to run off him and when he's not being marked by two or more players. Sadly that doesn't happen enough

Having lost a goalkeeper , two centre halves and a playmaking midfielder for this game and up against a side with a new manager a point is very acceptable. We rather ran out of ideas and rode our luck well. Let’s not knock it boys !

Excellent save from Jules but he was very dodgy from a cross in the first half but the save more than made up for it. Ward played really well and I thought Sakho played well. I thought we deserved a point and another clean sheet is a good sign.

If Jules gets injured can we get an emergency keeper in?

Agreed, based on the personnel we had in the starting line up it is a good point won. Jules had a good game and I was praying all game that he wouldn't get GBH'ed again.

Avoiding the common "new manager bounce" is an achievement, away from home too and especially with the missing players for us: 3 central defenders missing was a challenge which we survived. If W.H is injured, are we allowed an emergency loan goal keeper, or would we be expected to use whatever rookie we have at the club as 2nd choice? Anyone know?

How can a supposed 'top referee', Mr Oliver, get it so wrong on the WBA back pass that Foster handled, then bought down Wilf? Its becoming VERY obvious that referees have been told never to award Wilf a penalty, rather look to book him for diving if at all possible....should have had a penalty at the amex and again today was denied. At the amex a double handed shove n the back was not considered a foul, yet today Murray was awarded a pen for a gentle hand on the back! What is going on, why this bias against Wilf? Is it because he elected to play for Ivory Coast and turned his back on England? Something is very fishy with all these non decisions !

very likely, but thats no reason to ignore the laws of the game re the keeper handling a backpass
