One person's "Hasty decisions" is another person's "Firm and decisive action".

At the end of the day, Parish was pilloried for sticking with Pardew for so long, now he is criticised for the early removal of FDB.Maybe in time, supporters will understand why action was taken to remove FDB of his duties.

Pardew tried more expansive football with same squad and it didn't work - and he's an experienced prem manager...yesterday he revealed on skysports this was after a meeting with Parish...

Parish has brought in FDB to try this again...more or less same squad and it hasn't worked (can't blame him for wanting to better the club)

Although bad transfer window as signed no wingbacks to suit 3-4-3 and it's falled on it's backside.

Perhaps finally he'll let us play to our strengths.....

Personally, I am delighted that Parish had the balls to take the decision now.

I am a supporter of Parish, and I think many on here give him too hard a time. He has not always made the correct decisions, but from where we were, to where we are now, he has to take a massive proportion of the credit.

Unfortunately with FdB, Parish has tried again to turn us into something we are not. Yes, I would love to play sexy attacking, possession based football, but lets get real. The top 6 spend $200mil each close season, and even they struggle for results week on week - Liverpool anyone?

I have massive respect for FdB, one of the best defenders of his generation, and he and his bro and that Ajax team of the 90s.... But unfortunately, our players and frankly the rest of the club is not set up for 3-4-3. It is in Ajax blood, and they go through phases of winning the title, to coming a distant 3rd or 4th in a poor league, depending on how good their youngsters are that season. The trouble is in the Premier league, one bad season and you don't finish 4th - you finish 18th and it is bl**dy hard to get back up.

Maybe FdB wasn't given a chance to try and correct the wrongs; the Burnley game, the players look as though they were given more scope to play in a more natural manner. On another day, maybe we would have taken 3 points, and FdB would have soldiered on to Christmas.

But I had no confidence he could get the best out of the squad at his disposal. The summer transfer policy was a shambles. (And Parish has to take his share of the blame for this) . 7 centre backs and 1 striker.... madness.

I honestly feel we are better off without FdB. Maybe Roy is not the sexiest solution, and given his age he is not a long term appointment. But at least he knows the english game, and will play a style that suits the squad and the league.

The squad is good enough to be in this league, and 4 games in, we have plenty of time to sort the mess out. Hopefully Roy will appoint a young assistant to work alongside him and Sammy. Then we have a proper succession plan, and start to think longer term, about gradual improvement...

In a chief exec, you want someone who will take the tough decisions, at the right time. Parish has done that. And he will have learnt from it.

Also, by the time Roy's had enough (or Steve Parish has) Gareth Southgate should be available

Absolutely disgusted with the decision to be honest. One of our most embarrassing days as a club.

So Pardew gets to manage us for an entire calendar year when he's clearly lost the plot and results are atrocious, yet De Boer is allowed 4 games and is sacked just as he seems to have turned a corner? Ridiculous. I have defended Parish and CPFC2010 all along but am now wondering if a change isn't required.

Parish wants to change the way Palace play and are percieved, hence holding on to Pardew for so long and appointing de Boer. The decision to remove both managers and appoint Allerdyce was taken by the Americans.
The Americans want to protect there investment which means remaining in the Premier League.
Another backward step that will end with either Parish or the Americans pulling out.

Agree with Willo and ironically we played well yesterday, OK we lost but we were by far the better team, played some good stuff and if we had converted our chances we would have won comfortably and no one could argue it wouldn't have been deserved.

So things were beginning to be translated from the training pitch onto match days and performances - so in those terms why sack FDB after just 4 games?

Pardew was given far longer, too long IMO - and there was no evidence of improvement, if anything things were getting worse.

So my take is there must be something else that has happened, if not and it is just results, I agree with others and feel sorry for FDB and have a nasty feeling that the decision could come back to haunt us.

Over the next few days no doubt things will become clearer about what was happening behind the scenes and the actual reasons for the decision.

I think I read on here once that we looked at 30+ potential Managers before appointing FDB - correct me if I am wrong. But if that is the case and then you end up sacking the successful candidate after 77 days and 4 games surely that must raise questions about the recruitment process and those involved?

Then to boot reportedly paid £5M in compensation/severance - that really puts into perspective the ludicrously protracted Sakho deal to save £4M..!!

Look I hope I am wrong and the sacking of FDB and the appointment of Hodgson and Ray Lew is a master stroke and we go on and have a great season.

But from where I am sitting at the moment it just seems wrong and leaves a nasty taste in the mouth of FDB carrying the can for the short comings and failures of others.

Whatever happens let's just get behind the boys and hope we kick on and upwards from here.

This is the problem with the Americans clearly not understanding football and using this money ball, stats over everything approach. Anyone who truly understands the game would've seen the potential in our performance yesterday, we completely dominated the game. But the nature of this instant success everyone craves nowadays in English football means that building anything long term and sustainable is just a dream nowadays.

Not only embarrassed as a Palace fan today but embarrased of English football in general, were a perfect example of everything that is wrong with the game in this country.

Not sure why anyone is upset with the decision .
The football under Frank was terrible and produced no results. He played the wrong system and when he did
change to a more familiar system he picked the wrong team.
From what I can tell from media reports and posts from people on here he was also a pain the backside to work with which is damaging to players moral and the club.
Steve should be praised for nipping it in the bud early and essentially admitting he got it wrong with Frank.
