This was like when Sam first came. No organisation, no confidence, hoofing it up to an isolated benteke, players arguing with each other. In my opinion thd shambolic defending effected the whole team. Van arnholt was awful, delaney was soon slow and Kelly positioning and passing was terrible. Can't blame tiredness for this defeat, I thought we would start well like against spurs and then maybe tire. But we were terrible from the start. Edited by spartakev2 (29 Apr 2017 8.18pm)

Gotta keep behind the boys now because I'm sure Swansea will get 9 points from their last 4 games at least. We have to at least draw with Hull because we ain't getting anything in Manchester.

Though Madley would have booked Wilf for diving..... Originally posted by peterg
Just watched the replay so can answer my own question. Wilf clearly onside. Heaton brought him down. Should have been eleven against ten. Instead it was eleven against twelve, as per usual. Terrible decision by the lino, just shockingly wrong. Agree it was tight but that's what they're paid to get right. Total "w*nker" (quote marks for "Willo" who doubtless will be telling us what a fine game Madley and his linos had, worthy of "Clattenburg" himself.)

Said that weeks ago . Throw city next week and all in for hull We played ok against Spurs and given the results against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool I would have disagreed with you. With our CB injuries though we are an easier proposition. Just maybe though Sam will find a plan to protect the CB's. My choice would be to pack the midfield with defensive qualities. So stick Milo, Flamini and Ledley just in front of the CB's then add Schlupp on the left for Townsend and MacArthur on the right. Benteke starts alone up front.

Not sure why so much water goes on the pitch before and at half time. The ball was actually slowing up. Numerous times players lost their Footing and it looked like it contributed to the first goal when Luca lost possession.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Back down to earth ' by Guntrisoft Today was a typical end of season. Credit to Burnley they outfought and gave 100%. If Delaney contract renewed then it's a massive backward. If he's a good pro what you hear. He'll hold his hands up and drop down a division. Luka was dreadful and outbattled and passing was poor. The only 2 players that gave their all was zaha and Townsend. The intensity wasn't there is it because Sam claimed as a point a game was a safety mark. To fall apart shows how weak the squad actually is. Like to hear your thoughts. Am I overeacting .

To be fair, it was Luka's piss poor pass that led to the goal. The defence let its guard down, as Luka had it with miles of space. Hennessey had a really tough save to make striker had all day and shot a rocket. I played sat/sun league for 15 years in goal. If I'd have conceded that at my near post I'd have A been disappointed B asked why the hell i hadn't covered the near post. C I'd also then be tearing a bollock off the defence, rather than just gently ambling back like a slightly drowsy giraffe.
