This will hopefully set things in motion ,come on mackems sign him up ......BREAKING NEWS Sunderland have made a bid to take Bordeaux left back Diego Contento on loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky sources. The 26-year-old has been capped by Germany at youth level but holds an Italian passport. He made 49 appearance for Bayern Munich before moving to Bordeaux in 2014. The move for Contento would accelerate Patrick Van Aanholt's likely departure to Crystal Palace.

Remember in the old days when a fee had been agreed with the clubs it was largely a rubber stamp. Now the merry-go-round begins.

That is simply the way clubs operate when letting a 1st team player leave without there being cover in that position.

But terms have been agreed fee has most probably been paid so why we waiting for Sunderland to buy another player that's not the way transfers are done palace shouldn't have to wait when everything has been agreed with the selling club or the player

Not sure what you mean by that's not the way transfers are done, no one knows what the terms that are agreed are - one may well be that Sunderland have to sign a replacement first.

Transfer fees as I understand rarely get paid in one lump sum, they're paid in installments over a period of time. Transfers are completed in whatever terms the clubs see fit, if Sunderland want another player in before they sell then they won't let him go, it's as simple as that.

Which is why we put in an offer for Robbie Brady.
