The number of goals scored per minutes played you so clearly rely on is such a flawed measure it’s laughable. How about who those minutes were played for? I’m fairly comfortable in arguing that, for example, if Dwight Gayle was playing for Citeh rather than Newcastle he’d have scored a load more goals purely because of the players around him and the number of chances they create. Shane Long’s minutes per goal ratio must be dire but most Saints fans you ask want him in the side. Your fixation is with numbers that have so many variables they are pointless. All they prove is that people out there actually bother to measure them despite the complete irrelevance. Edited by Nobbybm (10 Jan 2018 11.54pm)
And yes, it IS important for which team those goals were scored.

so those two players must make your team great no payet is doing nothing now and a lot of the time i watched sakho play when both those was in the team he was not playing or was not in striker role he tends to play best in the attacking 3 like we play west ham fans i spoke to have even said 10m is a steel and not happy if he goes that cheap, the guy can play the role zaha has been doing with benteke so winger/striker. shane long had not scored a goal for almost a year then he gets one against us and regarding assists who you want to compare them with? this isn't what the guy is about Edited by grumpymort (11 Jan 2018 1.55am)

West Ham fans opinion on Sakho, not good. Also read the comments below the video. Appears they view him as injury prone and a cancer to the locker room due to his negative attitude.

So injury prone, good player though. And we know he can hack it in the prem so he will hit the ground running hopefully.

SAKHO FEE AGREED We reported last night that Crystal Palace were in talks with West Ham for Diafra Sakho, and a fee has now been agreed. The fee is between £10m and £12m, with Sakho now set to undergo a medical at Palace.

He seems to head a lot of goals in on the goal line judging by his video. Shame we quibbled over Tosun.

And yes, it IS important for which team those goals were scored. If you want to be particularly pedantic, Long has scored 47 goals & made 20 assists in 254 EPL appearances - really not that great a record. However, his defensive stats (for an attacking player) are pretty decent. The whole point is, minutes per goal is a meaningless statistic in the context we're talking. It's the same with a vast majority of them in reality. Yesterday, SSN were doing a direct statistical comparison between John Stones & Harry Maguire & after running through all the numbers the presenter basically admitted they were mostly irrelevant as they were very different types of player playing in two very different set-ups in two very different teams. I say again, far too many variables to be relevant.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |
