It's not what I'd like to happen stirling. It's what is generally happening everyday in any major world city anyway. Tens and tens of millions just going about their day and business and from all parts of the globe. If there was bad friction it would be kicking off all over on a daily basis. It's not. On the major whole people don't mind other people. Best just to accept it rather than living in a state of exaggerated truths and paranoia a la Daily Mail. Life is really too short.

I think you're stamping many people with your belief systems. The reality is that many many Londoners who could afford it left London a long time ago. Many who want to stay are having to move out now because of the mad cost of living rises. The reason that London is quite happy is that the majority of them are Johnny come latelys from aboard.

Eugenics is an area of interest to me and an exciting avenue for future human improvement. Misuse and errors in its applications from previous centuries ago have harmed its reputation but it has the potential to cure many of societies ills.

Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Nov 2015 3.45pm)

You should research the area instead of holding onto prejudices from the past.

Eugenics has great potential for human advancement and quite frankly the far better treatment of many people who today are derided for not having abilities or not reaching level potentials that they were never born with.

..it does have legs, could not resist, when at school the most awful kids out of the worst trouble makers always had those parents you could spot ten miles away, in the back of a Police car, I do remember one in particular I became friends with whos mum was lovely and articulate, then in walked the dad Whether it is down to upbringing or genes needs to have a lot more testing, the foods the mother eats in pregnancy has a huge bearing as does the first year of life, remember reading somewhere that even before becoming pregnant the foods eaten will have a action, same for men with their sperm, grub makes the egg and sperms.

And yet Islam gave us our modern numerical system and Darwin was a Christian. Yes, I agree with you that organised religion is a pain in the arse, but religion, as with any belief, has both good and bad sides, and to claim that everyone who holds a certain spiritual belief is bad because of that belief, as has been articulated on this thread, is nonsensical and is disrespecting billions of incredible people who are religious.

Arabic numerals aren't really Islamic, I'm not sure how numbers can be attributed to religion anyway.....Regardless they are based upon characters that existed a long long time before Mo turned up.

Darwin was a Christian as a younger man, however he didn't die one.

Sorry for the large font I was experimenting.

The Guardian is already undermining the significance of the Syrian passport found which is fair enough but why do left wing outlets only ever publish anything as a direct contradiction to what the rest of the media are focusing on?

Also quite disrespectful that the conspiracy nuts are out in force. Then of course there are the 'Je ne suis Charlie' types banging on with their justification for not doing something. Don't get me wrong, using such event to defend your anti-immigration stance isn't particularly original but I hate these self-righteous dickheads.

Solidarity means nothing according one blog I saw. Imagine being surrounded by cnuts with that sort of mentality in the aftermath of an atrocity.

The only problem of course, as in the past, is that it will be used by a certain type to promote an agenda of superiority v inferiority a la Aryan Nation in the US. It will make them a bit more respectable.

I know eugenics was in vogue and of immense fascination to many clever folk for half a century before a certain German corporal strutted his stuff but did anything ever come out of the research to prove anything worthwhile medically speaking?

It's everything that has improved the genetic quality of life for a population.

We have gene therapy through to liberal eugenics and so many applications that are all connected.

China's one child policy was eugenics in action for example.......illiberal of course but we are estimated to have four million less humans in China now....Many of whom would have been in severe poverty.

Of course one of those 4 million could have solved the hunger problems throughout the world or brought world peace or been Jesus or been the striker Palace sign who scores 50 goals in a season.

I don't like the idea of anyone, other than me and/or the mother of my children, deciding whether a child of mine will be allowed to be conceived and born.

Best we keep increasing the world's population forever then as old Johnno doesn't like the idea of birth restrictions.

Rather than allow a faceless bureaucrat/dictator to decide who should live? Yes I think that would be preferable. You can encourage people not to have children by argument, education and discussion, you do not need to force people not to have children.

You seem all for restrictions on others as long as they aren't on you. There are tens of millions of girls 'missing' from the population of China as a result of female infanticide and abandonment, so it's not all roses. There are two sides.

Same with you bemoaning attitudes towards internment. You should present your view to your muslim workmates in person, then you'd see what extreme beliefs like this do to relationships with innocent people. While we don't need airyfairy 'we all get along really don't we' talk, we do not need contributions bemoaning not being able to remove the liberties of millions of british muslims.

It's not on account that we are 'emotive liberalised society' that we don't want to lock up innocent people, it's because most people of all colours and creeds are decent, fair human beings.

I doubt they'd have been the answer to our striker problem, we need a lump, I think generally the Chinese are quite small.

It's the action of extremists. It is hardly going to make people more embracing of muslims or lead to them gaining more say in society. It's designed to terrorise, break communities apart and draw us into endless futile wars rather than strategic workable solutions.
