I am too young to remember Thatchers era, but if you were lower class like my family, you struggled, while the rich benefited. Heartless bitch, good riddance, I say.

Fair point...but for every one of you there will be tens whose familys in similar sitautions prosperd...i know because I was in one of them....

Wow 'tens' you say. Funny how she never managed to go higher than around 36 per cent vote during three won General Elections if so many, many did well.

I know because I was there.......watching Peter Snow and his old swingometer

I think that may call for an operation yewtree investigation.

I was born in 81 so little bit before me, I will go with her rights and wrongs it's the same with every politician out there, For everything that looks right to one section of society it is f***ing over another and usually the not well off to line the pocket of those who are for ventures which will benefit them and there fat cat friends.

So, how many arrests do we think we will occur on the day of her funeral?

Optimistic as ever

Farewell Maggie you will be missed, I wish she was in charge of the country now.

A sad day, truly the last PM to have any courage.

I have to agree. Definitely a conviction politician.

Shame she made a complete mess of the country though.

How bad has politics become though when you have so many spineless career w***ers from all parties clambering for a cushy job in politics? Not a single person from the conservatives, Labour, Lid dems is really electable.

The mountains are calling & I must go.

When asked how he pointed out the death rate of miners was hundreds a year, she closed the mines so the miners didn't die

They have no jobs but are still alive

My nephew (who strangely enough was born a week before her resignation) put a brilliant post on facebook today. It goes like this - "Not a fan of 'older' people having a go at teenagers because they weren't born in that era. I wasn't born in the 40's but i still think Hitler was a bit of a dick". Beautifully put !!! In answer to the question asking how many arrests on day of funeral i hope there are a lot to highlight how deeply unpopular she still is instead of some of the crap i've heard on tv today !

"It's ok postman , he'll lick you to death" "That isn't really that comforting , I still end up dead !!"

A GREAT PM. We were known as the sick man of Europe when she came to power. Labour had destroyed the country (winter of discontent, 83p tax rate, strikes all over the place). She turned everything around and did what was needed to be done. I lived and worked through her leadership. Every PM since has been a shadow compared to her. So easy to blame her for the ills of today, but I suggest that we would be in a worst state now if she had never been PM. We would probably be in the Euro and f***ed like so many other countries!!

Ken Loach, "Let's privatise her (Thatcher's) funeral. Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. IT'S WHAT SHE WOULD HAVE WANTED."

In 31 years of "suffocating State ownership, union-dominated, welfarism" before Thatcher GDP grew 150%. In 31 years since it rose just 108%. So much for 'economic miracles'. Thatcher was an economic disaster for the vast majority.

a plain daft statement, might as well commend a prime minister who outlaws the motor vehicle
