Does Sir Douglas have a chance of the role permenantley if things go well during his temporary spell in charge?

Do you actually have a shortlist in place or will you decide that if/when cv's are received?

Was it just a coincidence that Chris Hughton was at todays game or was he checking the team out?
really? so hes in the picture? would love to see him at palace steve, hes a top manager & a motivator which is just what we need! I too would be very happy to see Chris Hughton arrive. That would be a major boost to our season which has been pretty awful so far. I just hope that with the search for a new manager going on that people don't forget that we need more players. Lets be honest our defence is appalling and I hope that CPFC2010 remember why George Burley was in such a mess in the first place. Our team has some major holes in it. Also please, no more players on loan. We need players that are signed up and 100% behind the team in this situation. Thanks for answering questions on here. Its very interesting.
Good luck. I have faith in CPFC10's management and will be there backing the guys on monday.
I would imagine that quite a few on here won't even know who Paul Stwart is!! He was instumental in getting us promoted 93-94 season and winning the Championship whilst on loan from Liverpool. And he had a cracking perm!!
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Steve, I appreciate the delicate nature of the situation but can you comment at all on any potential successor for George Burley?

So you don't really have a clear forward plan at this point or, if you do, you're willing to throw it out of the window if Dougie strings a few good results together? That doesn't sound reassuring to me....

Have you learned anything from the appointment of GB which you can then use as experience for the next manager. Was you to hands on, to soft/ hard etc...

Do you think George Burley by taking the Palace job was on a hiding to nothing,in much the same way Alan Smith was the last time we came out of administration? Decimated squad,no coaching staff, embargo,it would take one hell of a manager to turn it all around in six months.
Quote from George Burley, sounds quite decimated to me. Most managers want to change the coaching staff when they come in and get their own people so this would surely have been a benefit , actually George was happy to have dougie. Then we lost two players from the end of the season that were regulars that we couldnt prevent the others leaving were GB's choice .Not much to ask your new manager is it ? to replace two players ?
I hope you can get someone like Hughton, young, fresh and knows our league. Yes could be a gamble but anyone else would be a gamble too.

hello steve, would just like to say how i trust u entirely with the running of palace and it can't be easy for u to have seen the 1st massive descision u made at the club back fire so fair play for being on here i think that speaks volumes! My suggestion is simple - ish, i believe we are maybe lacking 2 or 3 good players as on paper with no injuries we actually have a very good side! So my thinking is rather than backing a manager in the window would it not be a shrewder move to pay for a better level of manager who could utilise what we have at the club? For thr record i think given our current situation i would like to see mr coppell or big sam! Cheers for taking the time to read this!
