Exactly, but it is one line G! Actually what primarily annoys me vis a vis Brexit is the referendum was primarily to deal with internal Tory party issues and such important judgements - and their ramifications - are exactly what Govt's are elected to manage/decide and the politicians - like Johnson - who simply saw the whole issue as a personal opportunity for political/career gain and to hell with the consequences. The real costs - both economic and political (NI as an example) - are already more than evident and will be there for years to come.

If you were engaged early, you will know from pre-vote posters on the mile long referendum thread that Brexiteers knew all this before hand. Perhaps not NI or those disingenuous charlatans who led the cause. But certainly the economic and political shock leaving would cause. It was a cost they were prepared to accept for the general good. Of course, many of those who were prepared to "accept" that cost did not bear it themselves. Many were in decent secure jobs or, more likely, pensioners with no mortgage or other debt. That will help the environment. Not many electric vehicles capable of pulling that down. Wont stop brexit though.

Who would have thought that the UK would end up reclaiming land off Dover to help it trade with Europe. The new EU exit/entry regulations are the last thing we needed. It could be helpful especially if you are the proprietor of a burger van, and importantly is an initiative from the port authority not the tories. Who will pay in cash-strapped Britain is another matter. Of course, if this is the start of something big, then we can rejoin in this manner, re-claiming as we go, the sea is full of poo anyway. Are there any mulberry harbours still around......

Agreed tell your friends in the EU to stop being an ass this is their doing. EU citizens can use our electronic gates and can stay for 6 months the EU doesn't treat as as nice in return.

Back in Horizon minus a bit, at great cost. Science matters but for me our environment is sacred. Brexit has allowed the tories to flush away our environmental standards, as we really knew it would. Nothing can be taken for granted anymore the UK no longer has safe water, its very much at our your own risk to bathe or paddle anywhere. Sea food check where it comes from. And of course it affects the adjacent land too. Basically you left the EU with its high quality standards and competence for exactly the opposite.

Well vote for people that will implement the standards that you want - something that you would not be able to do if we were in the EU of course.

'Brexit has allowed the tories to flush away our environmental standards, as we really knew it would.' That only makes sense if your loyalty is more to the EU than it is to your birthplace. If you had been my lad you wouldn't think like this.

'French are happy’. Macron ‘stealth’ tax on ‘unpopular’ British expats welcomed in France. A whopping 60% surcharge on their council tax equivalent. It's right to tax property and wealth in my view, and not just hard-pressed wage earners.

BMW has confirmed that its electric mini will be developed in Oxford, investing £500 million and securing 4.000 jobs. This is despite the Guardian telling us, less than a year ago, that BMW would axe UK production of the electric mini and relocate to China. One of France’s biggest banks has told clients to move money out of the eurozone and back Britain. Investment bank BNP Paribas has told clients to put their money into British stocks, arguing that a cheap pound, an attractive combination of sectors and the better-than-expected performance of the British economy makes the country attractive.
