The guy is shot to pieces. That first season he was a handful... An absolute beast in the air and hard work for any centre half... He’s done a Fernando Torres... Gone from being unplayable to looking like he can’t even trap a ball... He’s not going to get any better believe me. To much time has passed now. I still find it unbelievable we offered him a new contract... All this about protecting his resale value... What resale value??.. I personally wouldn’t pay more than £5m for the guy... I can’t see many managers paying much more than that for him.

According to you I don’t have a clue... That’s the beauty of opinions... Apart from 3 goals against those footballing giants of San Marino and Cyprus his last goals in 3 years for his country were against Russia and Gibraltar!! So how much would you pay for him then? And Roy is the problem he is now so crap??... Really?

Benteke in my opinion is technically a very good player and is a goal scorer. He clearly wants to operate in the penalty area. His weakness though is he does not cover a lot of ground when he does not have the ball either defensively or making runs to get into space. He needs to be in a team that get the ball into the box quickly and often ( like we did under Big Sam ) We are a defensive team at the moment and don't get the ball into the box very quickly so Benteke is a bit of square peg in around hole. He would thrive at a team like Burnley.

Shameful statistic for Benteke this season according to whoscored.com- worst passer in the league (in the league, that meant everyone!!) except for 3 goalkeepers who pretty much missed clearances. Click on PS% (pass success percebtage), you'll find him on the second to last page with just 48%. Now, in general, center forwards have worse passing success than other player because they pass under pressurr and often don'tvhave the time of a center back to pass the ball, but 48% is just too little. Normally, at least 65% is something ok. Pretty shameful for Ashley Barnes, Danny Ings, Jay Rodriguez or Chris Wood as well (mostly Burnley anti-football lol)

Villa desperate after they lost both goalie and main striker for rest of season. Really hope they feel nostalgic and pick up CB. For whatever price they are willing to pay - just cut the losses and get rid of the big Belgian.
