As far as I'm aware he has said he will step aside for the right owners. The issue is that the US investors want to double the price of the club - in order to double their investment. We're overpriced and they're in no hurry as long as they get a return. We need rid of them, desperately. We need some kind of Sheik or Oligarch who's completely willing to overpay, but, on the other hand, we won't be happy with that. How have you come by this information ASCPFC? I agree with several posts on here saying that the cost of the land from sainsburys seems insufficient to explain the delays, that something else is perhaps going on, and that the whole point of the Americans was to invest in infrastructure (which they can do without running into FFP regs), but I've not seen anything specifically detailing the Americans business plan etc?

They are a faceless target which can take the blame for all of Roy's woes.

When Harris and Blitzer invested the reported £100m into Palace 6 years ago, Parish stated that those funds would be ringfenced towards the clubs infrastructure. You could assume then that the new Academy development was funded - however the fans were asked to donate to that project as an option to having a season ticker refund. You could also assume that the cost of the new stand is more or less covered by the American investment. So what happened to that investment ? Did the club actually ever see that money ? Add to that the reported desire by H and B to sell their share of the club... Agreed. Someone somewhere has either been telling porkies from the start, or it was true and the investors had a get out clause if they wanted it back and have invoked it. I am not great with understanding accounts particularly with regard to companies such as Palace who have hidden their dealings all over the place. I had a quick look on companies house and can't find anything. I recall someone posting that the money was in the accounts somewhere, but then again there has also been numerous figures mentioned including £50m, £60m as well as £100m. I don't think the academy would have cost that much and it is rather telling that they asked for contributions from the fans. I get the feeling we have very little investment from the septics and they are just biding their time until some idiot pays way over the top for us. As ever, I reckon we are skint despite having two billionaire owners.

I honestly believe (and have said before) there have been a few seriously interested parties, however, for whatever reason, their interest waned... Why? We are an established PL Club in London, have PP for new stand ( allegedly), massive recent improvements to Academy and training facilities, Relatively attractive one would think. I can only think that Parish does not want to relinquish his role, which new buyers may want him to do. Clever quote “ when the right buyers come along”, right for who? Us, the Club or SP.? We may never know

I had been pretty much following the press on this. As far as I can tell their investment was 50 mil. They now want 70-100 mil and the club is up for sale at between 75 and 90% for 210 mil. That would give them at least 70 mil back, but I also think they own further shares meaning they would get more like 90-100 mil. There's obviously some reading between the lines, but the club does seem to be up for sale. I haven't looked at the accounts or shareholder reports or anything like that! I'm not blaming people for wanting a return on their money but the club seems overpriced, which seems to be the biggest barrier to sale I can see. There's more recent reports and older reports on all of this. I literally just put Crystal Palace takeover into Google - plenty of news and also some rumours there.

I don't want the club taken over by a Middle Eastern Sheik, or a Russian Mafia boss, or a Chinese government investment agency, or an American billionaire, even if that would get us a big new shiny stand and a few more £150K-per-week carpetbagger players. I'm happy having an owner who understands the club and has its best interests at heart - even if he doesn't have shedloads of dosh.

There’s a charm to supporting a club like Palace. Glory hunters will never understand it.
