We need a better scouting policy if we are to spend this money wisely. This is the absolute crux of it. Southampton unearth new gems virtually every year, normally someone they have bought cheap and sold big. I would sign their scouting team.

I haven't seen anything in the media about him willing to go on strike etc and think that this is just someone's vivid imagination working overtime On Twitter, one verified Sky Sports reporter claimed that another verified Sky Sports reporter had said this. I checked the account of the one who allegedly said it, and there was nowt. It may be that the claim was said on broadcast, but people talk so much s*** when it's broadcast. It's like they forget they should anchor their comments in any kind of truth whatsoever. It's a big big issue for Wilf to strike -- on a lot of levels. He might. Or he might just not give his best.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Better loans of good players than paying for crap. It is, one has to admit, a rather depressing realisation that we have hit our ceiling. Money, and lots of it, is the only cure, as remote or realistic as that proves to be. I think that's the case for every team outside the top 6 in fairness. Everton will have had the same conversations when United wanted Lukaku, Leicester had it with Mahrez, Southampton with every half decent player they've had... Had we not started so badly last year, we may have done a Wolves and ended up around the Europa League and had a bit more pulling power. Without a season like that where everything clicks, you're always at risk of heads turning.

You waste your time with that superior attitude. Be sure of that. As I've said before. Show me these signings before we part with our best ever players. I suspect that even with the sale of AWB and Zaha, Parish would still do very little in the market and wait and see how we were in January. I see more loans coming in. Well sure if you’re only gonna imagine a scenario where we sell Zaha and reinvest nothing then obviously we shouldn’t be selling.

I do believe that when the English say 'a little more' they actually mean 'quite probably a whole heap more'. So re-stating Neillo's post with different punctuation and the above change: ''So let's just try to screw every last pound out of Arsenal who - as I suspected - have sh*tloads more than £45m as their summer budget.'' Edited by Mapletree (04 Jul 2019 3.53pm) Fair point, well made. Apologies to Neillo.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I find it hard to believe all the recent speculation that Wilfried Zaha is looking to leave Palace. Firstly, he is in Africa playing in a tournament he wants to win so is concentrating on that rather than considering a move elsewhere. Secondly, he has stated recently that he is extremely happy with life in SE London where his family and friends are. Thirdly, I do not see him accepting being a small fish in a big sea when he is already a big fish in a smaller sea.

That’s all nice but it’s not always about where you are but where you could be, especially with the clock ticking. We don’t fully know what’s going on but to assume Zaha only wants to stay is a little naive tbh. Sorry.
