EU confirms end of Jan date with early release clause if deal is ratified. Now over to Labour, a no deal Brexit is off the table until 31 Jan so why not have a GE?

Well that wipes out the House of Lords and a lot of the Commons including one J. Corbyn. You maybe onto to something Steeleye. By the way young people can be just as selfish and short-sighted as us old gits.

My dear wife has often called me a selfish, narrow-minded,short-sighted,bigoted old git, adding that I have got worse with the advancing years. She does however recognise that I have been a eurosceptic and on the right-wing of the Conservative party since the day we met and this has not changed with age. We met way back in 1982.

Young people have ideals, they haven't reached the stage where cynicism, materialism, exposure to corruption, the media, the HOL (satire) kicks in. Let us include the young they are the future, we are not. Take a back seat you have had it your way too long.

This here is a perfect example of one of the reasons people want out of the EU and our divvy politicians just don't get it. We don't want to build on the green belt and concrete over everything, we don't want more and more people because this is excactly the consequences and we knew this over 10 years ago. If you voted remain you will get more and more of this, is this what you wanted? Edited by dannyboy1978 (26 Oct 2019 3.11pm) Fair play for turning this into a post about the EU, who incidentally do far more by the way of environmental policies in the UK than our own government. Also, if you think we’ll stop building on green belt when we leave the EU, you’re dreaming. Also, we entirely have the power whilst remaining in the EU to tighten our immigration policies - our government never did it. All in all, this post is Brexit in a nutshell; Truth and accuracy need not apply.
