Opinium poll for the Observer, 23-25 Oct
The 'get it over with' sentiment is stronger now I'd say, combined with Labours wishy washy take on what they actually do or don't want.

Birmingham isn't Croydon, which is where you were discussing. Of course some authorities may need to review previous policy decisions. For sure an increasing urban population demands increasing housing and that in turn might mean finding pockets of underutilised green spaces that can be used. That doesn't mean there is a major threat to our green spaces. Why on earth do you think I, or anyone else, is in favour of "open immigration"? It's as nonsensical as the idea that I am in favour of a "concrete jungle" or "cutting down trees" or destroying the green belt. For the record I am not. It's because of my grand kids that I wanted us to remain as members of the EU. It's what they want too. I note that you edited your post 3 times but still managed to make a series of spelling and grammatical mistakes, including getting my "name" wrong. A little careless don't you think? My first point I high lighted crordon and your answer was Then when I mention Birmingham have already done it you change your tune and all of a sudden it's ok to build on green belt. The clear fact is your immigration policy is driving us to build on green belt and your to stubborn to admit mass immigration is now having BAD consequences, You know it's wrong, your grand kids know it's wrong. Your policies are ruining this country. Ps. It's clear when somone is loosing an Argument because they always go down the bad spelling route lol Edited by dannyboy1978 (27 Oct 2019 6.14am)

Here is more details of croydon's plans to build on croydon's green belt which is also happening up and down the country. It's disgusting that the remoaners immigration policy has led to this.

Which is true. You then switched to another report in Birmingham which made some different points, which I responded to by saying that different situations demand different solutions. Which is true. It's also true that there is no overall threat to the green belt but as the demand for housing increases it would be silly to adopt a totally inflexible position but keep an open mind and revisit decisions made decades ago if to do so makes sense. I don't have an "immigration policy"! What on earth are you talking about. All I am trying to do is point out what is pretty obvious if you step back from all the emotion and hype surrounding Brexit. Which is that immigration is unlikely to be significantly impacted as a consequence. Politicians make claims and no-one will know the precise result until it happens but logic and history suggests your claims are well off the mark. Indeed if half the things predicted by the ultra leavers about the way our economy will react to being "free" of the EU then we will require an increase to immigration to cope with the demand for labour. Your idea that my "policies" are ruining our country is completely nuts. I don't have any "policies"! I am not in government. I am responding to events. It is simply my belief that if we cannot remain within the EU, which was my preference, then the minimum we must seek is to negotiate as close a working arrangement with them as is possible. So avoiding a "no deal" Brexit is the first priority. Once done we can look at what the next options are. Whether you think my, and my grand kids, views are "wrong" is of no consequence. What matters is what actually happens and that is still all to play for. Whose argument wins, or loses, won't be known for the next 10 or 20 years. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (27 Oct 2019 8.58am)

I am merely respecting that fact. you talk down to everyone, as though you are the only one who knows whats happening and your opinion is the only one that matters, just remember 17.4 million voted leave, hardly their fault if the young people couldnt be bothered to get up out of bed and actually use their vote is it? You Liberals just want to get the whole thing cancelled, very democratic isnt it? Edited by the silurian (27 Oct 2019 9.51am)
