Two fingers up to everyone who slated me for calling him a mercenary cnut.

I told you so.

Definately.

We are probably better off without him - the whole scenario has been played out very publicly with much wailing and protesting by Eddie Howe.
He wanted out and that is what he has got - I am glad they lost his last game in charge but hope they still get promotion.
Come on Dougie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep

I took him at face value and was very much a good luck to him - I feel for those fans and possibl his chairman who he has made absolute c***s of.

If he has truned round and stated he just didnt fancy Palace and Charlton at least he would have been honest.

I hop he sinks like a stone - I do have the feeling he may be a bit of a one club wonder which is why i wasnt crying into my beer when he didnt join us

Agree with what people are saying.I feel sorry for Bournmouth fans whose emotions have been torn apart this week.Definetly think he would have "Done a Bruce" if we got him.
Stii a bit of a change from the beautiful Dorset countryside/coastline to Burnley. He is going to love it up there.

The fact that Bournemouth fans don't really have any hard feelings towards him says it all really. Big mistake to say what he did in the press when he turned us down - should have simply said that he didn't consider the offers good enough.

All he's actually done is turned down two offers to join clubs that are arguably not worth the bother right now in comparison to Bournemouth - to take a job with one that is unarguably in a better situation.

To me, that would seem to be nothing more than a very shrewd career move with some understandably naive press-handling thrown in.

I used to watch him play for Bournemouth when I lived down there and you'll be hard pressed to find a more honest professional. Nothing mercenary about him at all. In this day and age, I can see exactly why most people would quetion his motives - but it must have been a genuine wrench for him to leave the club - I can see exactly why he'd choose Burnley over us as well.

Can any of the people slating him honestly say that they'd turn down a great job opportunity just because they'd turned down a not-so-great one a couple of days before? I very much doubt it.

All the best son - ideally, we've got our own version now anyway (who will doubtless be deemed 'mercenary' if he ever leaves us for a bigger club).

I admire Howe for wanting his team to play pure football, but he really ought to realise (and quickly) that maybe the talent isn't there for that. How many times today did they f***-up playing it straight out on the deck from the keeper??
