If that was even remotely true then history wouldn't be constantly reinterpreted to reflect current right-think.

For anyone with an ounce of foresight, this stuff would be seen for what it really is. It is an early symptom of the replacement of a culture, genetic heritage and written history of an entire people. We will be out bred, subjugated and ultimately erased from the record. All that will remain is a few random genes and a whole lot of false history and fiction written by our replacements. Opponents of reality and proponents of woke will call this a far right wing conspiracy. Well they would, wouldn't they.

Every civilisation eventually comes to an end, either by war, natural disaster or some form of implosion. When people don’t have the ability to improve society they look back in order to justify their existence, and in doing so take society backwards instead of forwards. That’s where we are at; too many looking to correct the ‘mistakes’ of history rather than progress civilisation forward.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

It's not simply a matter of reinterpretation. It's that people experience things differently and pass those experiences on. There are countless examples of this, running since time began. That the books are written by the victors doesn't mean that the losers see things the same way. Just look at Brexit as an example. Our views are very different.

Of course history isn't set in stone because new evidence is discovered which changes the story but this is more than that - to use a very minor example there was a TV film which cast a black Ann Boleyn. In and of itself that's pretty unimportant but what are the chances of there being a White Mary Seacole?

Your comment is just you repeating your usual theory. That you have a particular view of history doesn't mean that everyone shares it, or that it's true. It's just yours, born from a particular set of experiences and attitudes. You are as entitled to that view as everyone else is to theirs, but you cannot deny them theirs, whether yours is that it is woke, or theirs is that yours is right wing.

Casting actors according to their ability, and without regard to their skin colour, seems an important statement to make in the context of the general debate about the way we regard people. If it causes debate and makes people think that's all fine in my book. That's what drama is supposed to do.

I look forward to seeing Laurence Fox playing Nelson Mandela in some film about what an unmitigated success South Africa has been since 1994.
