...hahaha...the irony of you complaining about using History to make a point after having done so numerous times previously on Government spending actually made me laugh out loud then!

The question is one of relevance.

The average secondary school class in England contained 20.4 students according to the latest school census.

Data collected by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) found that the UK had some of the smallest average class sizes in the developed world.

Although class sizes in Japan and Germany tend to be larger, children in both countries out-performed UK students in the latest influential PISA rankings.

For me the final point is less to do with the schooling system but more to do with society as a whole...having Asian parents means a child is more likely to obtain far better grades then not having them...why? Because of the family structure and 'encouragement' to attain respectable jobs such as being a Lawyer or Doctor.

Yep, family culture makes a significant difference. Anyone walking into a top set at a normal secondary school and then walking into a bottom set can straight away see the affects of family culture aligned with ability.

You do of course get lovely kids in bottom sets and some right unlovely ones in top sets....But family and hence societal culture does make a difference.

Success is not just about ability...Though the higher you go obviously the more it does....Nevertheless most 'average' ability kids could attain most top sets in most schools if they really wanted it.....Though not all round in all subjects because by definition being average means the mental effort required does take it out of them.

The 'average' ability child who really tries hard and behaves well is....as far as I'm concerned a wonderful thing. They deserve all the praise they get. They are worth two of a talented kid who can't be bothered.

Yet nearly 1/2 of the current Labour MPs voted for that war, which includes Andy Burnham (No longer) and current deputy leader Tom Watson. Ouch

Off to Election hustings tonight.
Got me question sorted.

Is 7p enough for a child's breakfast?
