Miliband tried the "us against the rich" strategy and got humiliated. When will Labour ever learn that they have to speak with aspiration to win, rather than bringing everyone to the lowest common denominator.

I watched the speech and have looked into his economic plan. The "invest to grow" argument has been done to death and never voted in. That's because it either means huge levels of borrowing (which the public don't like) or it means tax rises (which they like even less).

It's government's job to create the conditions for innovation, not force it through state coercion and huge tax-and-spend. Don't do things like raise corporation tax, for example, unless you want businesses to not pay it or, worse, leave the country.
