cheers for the Yes album and other recent assists. Must say, I thought i'd be upset with Benoit David doing lead vocals on the Yes album, but the music and singing is really quite good.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

As ever staffie, I'm enjoying the great variety of stuff you're posting up! I was wondering though if there was any chance you could upload Stoned, Part 1 by Lewis Taylor? I've been trying to find it for ages and having no luck! Thanks very much!

hi staffie, have been playing the new yes album and am very impressed, I was a huge fan around the 70,s and saw many of their concerts, after Going for the one album and trevor horn, wasn't the same band and i lost interest but this is very good and sounds very early yes ish , on that vein have you a link to possibly their best album, The yes album, i know i've requested another album recently so sorry if i''m coming it cheers as ever TBH I wasn't even bothered about this album but downloaded it out of curiosity anyway. I have just finsished listening to it and, as expected, it is just not Yes IMO. Granted it has the background sounds of early Yes in some tracks, the Squire / Howe touches, but really misses the Anderson / Wakeman sound. Benoit David is a tribute artist and, whilst obviously he does not impersonate Jon, he just doesn't have the right voice. Strangely he does sound like Jon in his "Close to the Edge" days, but I suppose he had to as they are a tribute group, and also in his band 'Mystery'. Listen for yourself. I am not anti Benoit David, as the above link is a very good track, but this version of Yes just ain't the same to me I'm afraid. I will listen to it again but have to admit I am biased to the original Yes and may never change. I have forwarded the link to a friend of mine who was / is a massive Yes fan. We too went to many a concert together including the 'amazing revolving stage' gig at Wembley Arena and it will be interseting to see what he thinks as he too switched off in the Buggles days and never went back. Each to their own as they say.
What can this strange device be? - = |

Todays first download is a set by Procol Harum that was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden in 1971. For a boot thats 40 years old this is in superb quality - one of the best PH boots I've heard. The audio has been taken from a pre-fm master tape and sounds top notch. I've posted a few boots and albums by PH in the past - this is up there with the best of them....thoroughly recommended... Here is a download link I found for :- Live at the Folkets Hus, Stockholm, 16.10.71 - Procol Harum (Bootleg) Quality : Superb Tracklisting : 01 Shine on Brightly Download Link : [Link] Filesize : 138MB (Including Artwork) Enjoy!
