The only point I have been making is that as the future affects them very much more than it affects us the decision on remaining or leaving ought to be weighted in their interests rather than ours. If you genuinely believe that by leaving they will have a better future then, whilst I disagree with you, I respect that decision. If however you are voting solely on your own preference then I urge you to think of their's too. So your saying somone with life experience who may have voted in the 1970's referendum and has a wider view of life is less likely to vote correctly in the UK'S interest than teens?

I think we are about to see a change of tactics from Remainers. They will no longer vote against the bill but will instead vote for amendments and against the timetable. That way they can say to the electorate we want a deal but... 1. We need more time. The Lisbon Treat was passed in 5 days and as much of this bill is the same as May's they only need to focus on the changes. 2. I support the bill I have just a few changes. I suspect that Boris will lose on the timetable and possibly even on the amendments at which point he will withdraw the bill. Remainers can then blame him and vice versa. Whilst I am annoyed with Parliament and it often seems I am supporting Boris's bill I don't like it and I would prefer a clean Brexit. I just see more fudge and delay. C'mon Macron you hate the Brits put the boot in you know you want to. Edited by Badger11 (22 Oct 2019 8.46am) I have thought for a while that all of this, even negotiating the "deal", was really electioneering window dressing being stage managed by Cummings. Johnson is either the Pantomime villain or the reluctant martyr depending on your point of view. I think the WAB will get it's second reading but cannot decide whether the timetable motion will be approved or not. Would it be tactically better for the opposition for Johnson to withdraw the bill prior to the amendments being debated, or for it to be allowed to proceed and the arguments given the oxygen of publicity, but the debates stalled so that they cannot be concluded by Oct 31st if the amendments fail, or rushed to a conclusion if they succeed? At which point I suspect Johnson would again pull the deal. If they succeeded it would send a strong message to the voters, so that's probably my favourite. Whichever way It now looks pretty sure we will be requiring an extension so we can hold a GE and for a new Parliament to take this forward. Will we get that extension? Looks almost certain to me, as although the EU don't want any more delays too, they don't want a no deal crash out even more.

When we need a good belly laugh we only have to remind each other some of the reasons why people think it's a good idea to leave the EU! Last Christmas we improvised a Two Ronnies sketch with two leavers in a pub doing just that. The opportunities for humour that you all provide is endless. Have you not watched the Mash report?

There needs to be a statutory age over which voting rights are discontinued. No one over 70 can vote as they don’t have the same investment in the future. No vote = no opinion. What’s next? Anyone reaching 70 should be turned into Soylent Green to preserve the planets resources and have their assets seized by the state for the greater good. After, of course, being whipped through the streets for being so unspeakably selfish as not to have died the day they stopped working.
