The British population changed its mind (Or had its mind changed for it in many cases) between 1975 and 2016 of course. Do keep up.

Simple. We aren't discussing it. We are discussing our membership. But you're happy to continually discuss economic forecasts should we ever leave the bloc but turn a blind-eye to the current economic problems facing the bloc?

Well you only have another 41 years to wait. If leave had lost the vote I and most would have put our hands up, fairs fair you won, crack on.

Blah blah blah blah, traitor. Oh well, I tried to explain how things are now but as you seem to have stopped the clock in June 2016 there is little more I can do to help you come to terms with the way things actually are. There will be a GE. Johnson will lead the Conservatives on a platform that says that Parliament stopped him doing what "we" asked him to do. The opposition is divided and will split the vote against the Tories who will also suffer losses to Farage. The Tories will likely win, or have to form a coalition with Farage who will demand a harder Brexit than this deal. That's what all this is about. It's as much electioneering as was the Queen's speech last week. I would not be surprised to see Johnson pull the bill after his timetable is voted down and invite a no confidence motion, which the SNP would gladly propose. That would kill any amendments. So unfortunately I think you will ultimately achieve your wish, just not in the way you think it ought to be delivered. Of course I could be wrong. I certainly hope I am.

They are very well aware of the current economic turndowns in some EU countries. Ups and downs are inevitable but they don't undermine the fundamentals. The EU makes us all stronger. Working together in today's global economy is essential.

The performance of the British economy since the Brexit referendum in June 2016 has made a mockery of claims by Remainers that a Leave vote would tip the UK into recession and lead to as many as 820,000 job losses. Instead, employment has risen by 946,000 since the vote, and unemployment is below 4 per cent at levels not seen since the 1970s.
