lets be honest...ayew is s***, he isnt better than bentekkers at all. big ben needs starts & proper time on the pitch. i believe he would have more goals that ayew given the same amount of minutes on the pitch Agree , and and I think he would help create more goals , as per yesterday which was taken and several earlier in season when he has put players clean through but they have missed .

Irrespective of whether Ayew or Bentenke is the better player, yesterday Bentenke was heavily involved in our goal, had an acrobatic volley go just wide and won at least two or three flick-ons that put us on the offensive. Ayew missed a golden opportunity and was the reason our first "goal" was disallowed, but did work hard. He has a huge amount to do to turn most fans around, but I believe there is no comparison between Ayew and Bentenke at their respective peaks; the question is whether Tekkers will ever find it again. It is possible the goals for Belgium may have perked him up.

thats all subjective and down to opinions. mine being that ayew is s***, and given the same amount of gametime bentek would 100% score more. Then why did Benteke only score 4 goals in his last 57 games for us? Nobody can say that Benteke hasn't been given a fair chance.

But Benteke started plenty of games last season. What makes you think he's become any good over the summer? Roy doesn't seem to have noticed anything.

You're right, it was the season before that I was thinking of haha. Still, I stand by my statement that he's been given plenty of chances, and frankly I doubt that after the injuries he's gotten any better. Roy knows how much we need goals - he's shown faith in Benteke in the past when he couldn't score to save his life, and the fact that he's not starting him now tells me that Benteke isn't showing anything in training to suggest that he's back to his best. I think he's finished at this level, and he's already proved it.

Think he's working himself back into form. Was decent against Liverpool.

I think he might find some form if he is given some starts. Against Burnley I think he is needed also to add height against their set pieces. I would start him and give him a run of games, at least see against Burnley if he has got any hunger back.

Now is the time for Benteke. He has gained fitnesses and confidence after the internationals. Burnley are a big strong side and Benteke can match them in attack and defence. COYP
