Guys I am not here to to make enemies or to antagonise people all I am doing is sharing information. Yes I started the thread saying meet our New Manager (Lampard) he was a candidate & clearly was interviewed by Palace however my contact jumped the gun & got the info completely wrong but again he was only passing on what he was told/knew. Then it was Nuno which again was correct until he did the dirty on us at the 11th hour so not sure I can be blamed or moaned at on this. I then announced days ago before it was even being reported that Favre was a done deal on a 3 year contract & today it was finally released/confirmed by the media tonight. So when people say it’s been in the press for days there has been nothing until tonight that the deal is confirmed. Press conference will be Friday along with new kit release. Good times ahead now can we all just support the team. Edited by dazza (23 Jun 2021 11.21pm) Edited by dazza (23 Jun 2021 11.22pm)

Now I know this is all in the press so nothing new but I’m being told yes I know what you will all say but I am being told tonight that providing no hitches we will have a new manager hopefully within 48hrs. That man is Lucien Favre 3 year contract talks are progressing but all is going well & SP is very confident we have our man. Only passing what I have been told, may be rubbish but just passing on the info. This was your first pronouncement on Favre, and you admit it was already in the press yourself.

Wow what an appointment,a manager who has got teams into the champions league. I remember Parish saying ages ago he wanted us playing like Dortmund, now we have their former manager. Unreal appointment work permit permitting which shouldn't be a problem. If this appointment is confirmed he is unlikely to do that here under the current ownership and just staying the league will be measured as success. However do not forget he got fired from his last job and he is unproven in this league which is the toughest in the world to succeed in. What I do hope for is that this is not another FdB type appointment but I guess only time will tell!

If he doesn't get any decent players in it doesn't really matter whether our manager is Pep Guardiola or Ian Holloway. Favre is I imagine a very good manager, but he can't work with nothing. We have a short window now in which our owners can prove how much they are backing him and then its down to Dougie and Favre to provide value for money. Interesting times that's for sure.

Being honest, I'd never even heard of Favre before his name was un contention for the prestigious Palace manager job. I don't follow footy on the continent that much. Sounds like he could be a decent appointment though, and anybody is better then nobody of course. Fingers crossed we can get this one over the line and he gets enough time to sort tne squad out.

This appointment should mean we will see the likes of Rak-Saki Omilabu Hannam and Spence more involved in match day squads which is something most of us want. Could be exciting times ahead.

From what I read already on users posts without even knowing who the guy is, I think a few people will be a bit disappointed in a few months time... Edited by Ian-VI (24 Jun 2021 9.01am) Edited by Ian-VI (24 Jun 2021 9.02am)

On the basis that Favre has been available since December, and with the advance notice that Roy was leaving, I’m surprised that this move for Favre wasn’t put in a place shortly after the end of the season if there was definite interest.
