Any opinion before something happens is guesswork.
Any opinion after it happens is being wise after the event.
Any opinion while it's happening won't include all the relevant information.

Kind of limits any discussion.

That all depends on who is expressing the opinion and whether their knowledge, experience and motivations are both relevant and trustworthy.

I have witnessed plenty of discussions involving people who think they know a lot about everything which actually contain very little of value to anyone other than themselves. Should they be limited? Not it keeps them occupied and away from causing harm. Should they inform policymakers? Not in a million years.

But why does it matter? Surely abiding by the guidelines of lockdown was the issue rather than disagreeing with them afterwards. That's more than Downing Street staff and several ministers managed.

The lockdowns probably caused more deaths than they saved with cancers and other fatal conditions going undiagnosed and untreated. Along with that the economy was wrecked, businesses ruined and peoples lives in general damaged - but of course Wisbelch will continue to belch his guff.

True. So why are others still behaving like playground attention seekers rather than concentrating on learning the actual lessons and working hard to help our recovery? Everyone can and should be doing something.

Probably?

There is no evidence at all for such an assertion other than prejudice.

In fact the reverse is true. Those responsible considered the options and decided that to lockdown was the least bad. I suspect they are better qualified than you in such matters.

There is no evidence for your assertion that my assertion is definitely untrue.

Because if they obeyed the rules at the time they're angry that those who imposed them didn't see the need to abide by them. Not being allowed to visit sick parents and seeing their business and children's education suffering while others are having parties, driving all over the country or groping their girlfriend is bound to be annoying.

There is no evidence that a blue spaghetti flying monster doesn’t exist as it requires the proof of a negative. It is though so extremely unlikely as to be disregarded.

Your assertion is not so completely unlikely but given the circumstances can still be dismissed on the balance of probabilities.

So am I and every other law abiding citizen!

Has absolutely nothing to do with the issue though.

Doesn't it? Those who impose the rules then ignore them? In the unlikely event of another lockdown why shouldn't everyone just think - those in charge didn't take the last one seriously so why should we?

Macmillan Cancer Support analysis of NHS figures show that cancer diagnoses fell by 33% during the lockdowns.

It is ridiculous for you to disregard this - just as it is to disregard a landlord with your first name, in your age bracket, living in your area, fined and incurring costs of over £10,000 for not maintaining the gas appliances in their properties.
