More bs! Global co-operative efforts don't take control away from nation states. All it does is encourage co-operation and co-ordination. It's like a rowing eight needing a cox to keep the boat moving in the right direction at a sustainable speed. Each oarsman still controls his oar, and some may decide to not put too much effort in, and let others do the work. Think China and India. So you believe the likes of the UN, the WHO, the BIS etc have no impact on the way we live our lives? By the way, in your analogy the cox literally steers the boat. Edited by W12 (12 May 2022 6.45am)

Who has since tried to monetise his bs by making videos, and publishing books, designed to appeal to those who share his outlook. People who self-describe as part of the "dissident right". Aka the far right. Snake oil comes in many odours, but they all stink, and the gullible still buy it. Sad, isn't it? I don't have 'hatred', that's mainly a word used by leftists to justify their actions against those they want to intimidate and silence. 'White supremacist', that's another phrase most often used by leftists and those willing to bend in the wind to their ideas. Just what is meant by 'supremacist'? Human beings are born with the genetics by the luck of the draw. These people are about language manipulation to justify themselves. They don't care about anything even close to truth. For all those that oppose people like WE and his supporters and what they represent I urge them to check out Neema, who isn't white and so doesn't nicely fit their slurs and dishonest language. He is someone who was once a darling of these type of people and a published Shakespearean scholar, but who now sees and dismays over where their ideas are taking Europe and humanity. Rather than listen to people like WE here is his channel. I don't 'hate', and I'll let your ending description show where the truth is in this. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 May 2022 7.17am)

What those soldiers did was murder to loot the complex. I hope they see justice.

Your kind's constant vilification of Trump when he was the elected POTUS was unprecedented and shameful. And you have the audacity to talk about 'hate' in that context. Do us all a favour and lose your keyboard somewhere where the sun doesn't shine.

Getting back to Ukraine... I think to understand Putin's thinking you have to look at the nature of the initial invasion plans. The initial invasion wasn't large in terms of equipment and troops and involved concentrating on all of the Ukraine other than the north near Poland. This rush to Kiev, so to speak, meant that the Russian army drove past much of the Ukrainian resistance and allowed that resistance to attack supply lines and troop/tank lines from forests and other large cover. The initial plans has been interpreted as Putin expecting the Zelensky regime to fall under that pressure without the Russian army having to destroy infrastructure and cities. He did not expect the west to treat the Ukraine as its hill it's willing to die on both militarily and economically. Putin I think wanted a pro Russian regime similar to 2014 before the coup and the dombas and southern areas to have a land bridge Russia to the Crimea. He still wants that but now has resolved on the long war that the west want but focusing upon the east and south where he has most Russian support in the Ukraine.....that way he doesn't have to worry about the Ukraine getting behind as before. At some point he will decide on a border that he wants to defend and it'll be for Nato/Ukraine as to whether they accept it or continue fighting. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 May 2022 12.57pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (12 May 2022 12.57pm) That is his only option left to declare a victory of sorts, but he had better be quick, I think he is running out of time. Yesterday, I noticed that Putin trolls are online posting about the fact they have deployed BMP-1 AMs as if they were a super weapon. They are really a product from the 60s [albeit a game changer back then] with a new auto canon. They were initially meant for export only but as the Russian army is skint so they use them. They could afford 100 units. I am sure Ouzo will know more.

Declare a small (yet costly - for all) victory, claim to have seen off the neo nazis with their 'special operation' and take it as given that citizens will either go with it or keep quiet through fear of speaking up.

Firstly, as mentioned in my post, it is not an opinion, it is a fact. Secondly, do you have me confused with somebody else? I am not even too sure where to look if I wanted to find "A biased corner of right-wing opinion". I know very little of the suggested 'globalism' actually, it does just worry me slightly as I was alluding to, that's all. Shows how sad a little person you must be if when I presented you with a statement pretty much rooted in fact, that was just meant intended as a discussion point, you resort to flinging out an imagined insult which isn't relevant or within any context at all. Not even a rebuttal of my statement, a deconstruction or alternative opinion which I would have accepted given my own stated ignorance, just a made-up assessment of somebody who challenges your stance or offers something different. And you have the nerve to accuse me of being a attendant of 'corner[s] of right-wing opinion! You'd have to be pretty ignorant, petty or perhaps both with a comment like that. I'd explain to you in further detail however I fear I'd more likely find success in attempting to illicit a response from my cat. I a going to state this now in case you do try to come back with something else ridiculous but there is a point you could possibly make and I would suggest is wrong, but that again would only be my opinion and I would not claim it as truth nor argue to the hills with anybody over it! For cats, nothing is illicit But it is notoriously hard to elicit a response from them. Edited by Mapletree (12 May 2022 5.09pm)
