Lets be honest Cahill looks like this will be his last season ,hasn't been anything like as effective as last year. Upfront never the same combination ,on the left handside we played two defenders who can't defend last night .I feel for Mitchell he is young but if someone runs at him at pace he struggles

Dann and Cahill are not a good partnership and both play better with Tomkins alongside either one. And dare I say Sakho would be similar to Tomkins with either Dann or Cahill alongside? Whatever combination would suffer in truth with just the two in the middle of midfield without a third defensive midfielder? Hodgson could help this by playing the defensive 3 in the middle of midfield again. However he has decided to not protect the ageing defence by playing an ageing slow midfielder with a younger slow midfielder who both can’t get up and down the field. Recipe for disaster as we have constantly seen

No you weren't just saying that. You were blaming Hodgson for the club's performance in the last 8 transfer windows. For all his faults, where Palace find themselves now ,with a squad of aging and out of contract players, is not down to Hodgson. Parish has painted himself into a corner with the way the club is being run. Ultimately he carries the can. Of course I’m blaming Hodgson. He’s the manager for god sake, he should be the main person at the club, the driver of the club’s direction, the main influence over how to get the team in the best possible shape. I have more respect for managers who walk because the club won’t back them, because I’m not talking about hundreds of millions I’m talking about consistently replacing players when they are past it with no more than two players per window. If Roy cannot recognise the current situation was occurring or just ignores it because he doesn’t feel it’s part of his job then more the fool him because his legacy is going to end up being a failing team. If Parish has ignored requests for players and repeated warnings that this situation was rapidly worsening then I would apologise to Roy and say more the fool Parish and we will all have to accept the club is truly screwed and relegation will shortly be nailed on.

Certainly outside of HOL, I have bored some chaps for the tautology apropos "Dad's Army" and the general dissatisfaction with the squad in general due to the passage of time with one bellowing out that I was akin to a "Gramophone record stuck in a groove" but my fears about our aged squad are now being realised.

Roy has many flaws but over the balance of his tenure he has kept us in the league with his tactics. We now have the biggest injury list in the division and if you all remember just after Xmas last year we had a worse injury crisis and this has been the case over the last few years but we always managed to pick up enough points. Our defence last night basically picked itself so I'm not sure what else he could have done with the back 4. As far as I am concerned not 1 of that back 4 is good enough to be playing regulary. We had 3 fit centre midfield players last night and I dont think it would have mattered which 2 he started. I like most am bored with the football and Eze is the only player keeping me sane at the moment but Roy will not be leaving before the end of the season and a lot of you will need to brace yourselves because there is every chance he will still be here next season. I would like him to go at the end of the year but only if it is for someone better. Our squad is in dire straits and if the wrong person comes in with no financial backing then we will be relegated.

When we played Newcastle we had a 10-12 minutes period really good (scored both goals), against Leeds we had a five-six minute period playing well.

Did you not take in the quote I posted earlier ? Hodgson's role is about getting the best out of the players at his disposal. Some on here think he is, some don't. Anybody on a 12 month contract is hardly in a position to be the main driver for the direction of the club - which is Parish's responsibility in any case. I certainly agree that a gradual rebuild would have been the way to go, but as I have repeatedly said before, the club has been run through a short term lens when it comes to the first team squad. Now it's becoming a far bigger problem than it should have been.
