Bump. What"s happening with this stand? With the state of the economy, it must be the best time in history to get a great deal, builders will be snapping your hand off, Croydon council will be snapping your hand off for the publicity alone, if this locking down continues for next couple of years, there"s no better time to clear the bicycle shed and build, and build high and wide! I want to see the new den and the valley from the top tier-and Withdean with my binoculars! Bump.

We could have completed most of the stadium by now.

Walked past the ground on Tuesday and had this exact thought tbh. There is no better time, unless finances are putting a halt towards things

Last update from Parish was that the major remaining hurdle to getting started was Sainsburys holding out for unrealistic money for the little bit of land they own that we need.

Parish made it pretty clear that unless Sainsburys got sensible with their valuation, he would have to go back to Croydon Council and ask them to issue a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO), taking the land from Sainsburys for whatever the Council feels is a fair price.

The Mayor of London gave the stand the green light, so it would be in the public interest for a CPO to be used if Sainsburys won't lower the asking price.

Palace know this. Sainsburys know this. They both know that the other knows it too, so I'd imagine they are just finishing their game of bluff over the actual figure.

That's the one. My gran lived in Catford and we would all walk down. Simpler times. I presume it's gone.

Ah, lets hope it doesn"t come to a flash mob gathering inside sainsburys entrance an hour before they close on matchday-then two hours the next home game, let"s hope not!

Isn't there also a question of a delay whilst new housing is built/provided for those in the cul-de-sac we also need or have I got that wrong?

I really can't believe that people still believe that Parish ever had any intention of going through with this.

I'm waiting for the next time he starts to get a bit of flak so he can then bring out another CGI for you all to gush over, and start fawning over him again.

The bloke's a PR man. He knows how to pull the wool over your eyes.

Yep. All that CGI showing the academy being built is pretty impressive. Almost looks like it's real

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.
