If you are a cricket fan you may recall that Shane Warne once suggested that Monty Panesar hadn't played 50 test matches, he had played the same one fifty times. In a similar vein our friend hasn't made 700 posts in this thread he has made the same post 700 times and as the trade deals won't have much if anything to do with the will of parliament he may have nothing to post about with luck

Johnson lost yet another vote in the HOC today meaning that MPs will have longer on Saturday to debate and also propose amendments. That could actually be quite significant, maybe allowing Benn to kick in. But why are they voting on this so soon, surely the 'deal' will be a complicated international treaty, how will they have sufficient knowledge to decide within only 2 days? That's down to the procrastination that they have 2 days...they have no one else to blame but themselves. They tried to set Boris up to fail and he comes up with a deal...now they better just get on with it. It makes me laugh when the opposition use the time its taken (3½ years) to get to this point as a justification for a referendum...when its just as much down to them and their obsfucation that its taken that long in the first place. I honestly think in all that time they've only got their act together for a combined 4 weeks working as a collective!

There’s a lot more concessions but there’s been movement on the Irish issue. It’s workable but it’s still not the Brexit the hardcore or the remainers want. There’s not a lot of detail so the fun times start if/when it gets through Parliament. (I think this one will) Agreed

“The prime minister’s desire to meet his short-term political objective of leaving on 31 October, after three and a half years, cannot trump the need for proper scrutiny of a 500+ page document with epochal consequences for Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the EU.” They never learn do they, pass this and it will all be ok. Parliament is being bounced by Johnson and if history is anything to go by, they will baulk.

Surely the time has come for all progressive people to show solidarity by wearing blue berets and bellowing 'stoooooooooop breeeeeeeexit' at all times when in public?

Brexit extension unavoidable if MPs reject deal, says Merkel. German chancellor tells EU leaders UK should be offered extension if it is requested. Well that clears up one matter I think.

Only a few days ago the Fat Lads Alliance were running around Parliament Square singing ‘No Surrender’, how must they be feeling this morning? Another one of Boris’ cast offs, you’d have to have a heart of stone not to feel for them.

I don't know if you are being deliberately obtuse, along with being rude, or genuinely don't understand.
My point was about populism generally and not about the referendum in particular. It might have escaped your notice that the way we get our information these days is markedly different to the way we did even 10 years ago. You might think "so what", but it actually changes everything, as I pointed out and won't repeat. It's the primary reason why I don't believe in holding any referendums. I want us to choose who represents us and then let them do it. We make up our minds based on broad principles and general directions, so the impact of populism is somewhat more diluted in a GE though still very evident these days. I think it might be you who is being deliberately obtuse. You can't have it both ways.
