Hamas claims psychological and strategic intellectual defeat of Israel after IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari, said that Hamas is an idea rooted in the hearts of the people and it can’t be eliminated. Hagari reportedly said that destroying Hamas or making it disappear is simply throwing sand in the eyes of the public.

For all radical and even semi moderate Muslims the idea came from a book !

Israel and Hezbollah war might be looking an option, once Palestine areas have been flattened and all Palestinians ejected.

It never ceases to amaze me just how successfully media can fool people with concepts that have been proven incorrect time and time again. Of course you can't eliminate Hamas using the western mindset.....To do so you'd have to do two things....and for god's sake it's been known since Alexander's time. You either eliminate the people themselves or you take over the society, kill all the leaders, take the children away from the parents and indoctrinate them. None of this is acceptable to modern western minds. Besides it would probably create global problems...and I wouldn't blame them for the resentment. So if you're going to live within the western frame, no you can't eliminate Hamas. But hell....Hamas would sure eliminate you. The whole problem feeds back into the injustice of 1948.....There's no getting round that.

Indeed Stirling, my comment was slightly tongue-in-cheek. Afer all the successes that the two Gulf Wars brought, and the invasion of Afghanistan.

And the Israeli stealing of Palestinian land continues unabated. "Palestinian officials have condemned a dramatic new settlement drive by Israel in the occupied West Bank which includes retroactively authorising three outposts. The move is set to further stoke tensions in the territory which has seen a surge in violence since the war in Gaza began on 7 October. Palestinians claim the West Bank as part of their hoped-for future state. Settlements are widely seen as illegal under international law although Israel disagrees." (BBC website)

ooops "At least 15 people have been killed in an air strike on a school in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian officials have said. Dozens more have been injured in the attack on the building which was sheltering displaced people at Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry." (BBC website)

The difference in reaction from our politicians when Russia air strike Ukraine is very interesting to note; Kier Starmer: “Attacking innocent children. The most depraved of actions. We stand with Ukraine against Russian aggression - our support won’t falter.”
