NO MORE CONTRACT RENEWALS. Four wins? We’re not going to get four wins between now and the end of the season, that’s for sure. However I expect we will manage at least a win and a couple of draws which is all we will need. I can’t see any of the bottom three getting to 30 points, not without any home fans to give them that extra impetus.

The Leeds team we played last night is 50% made up of average Championship players, but they all work hard and they are all fit and capable of sprinting around the park for 90 minutes. They have added to their ranks some real talent too and you get the feeling it is a club that knows where it is going. We should be so much better. There are 2 transfer windows each season so Roy has had 8 windows to improve the side. If he was banging down the door of the owners as he should be and brought in one experienced player and one decent youngster (so just two players per window), then we would not be in the position we are now. Instead of investing in the likes of younger players like Eze, we bring in Cahill, Clyne, McCarthy and waste money on players like Jach, Rakip and Sorloth. Unfortunately, it appears Roy is a yes man and has no ambition or desire to stand up to a board and demand changes such that we are now in a situation where we are faced with a squad that is age wise falling off the edge of a cliff. He is in many ways the worst possible manager for us because his system suits, in fact relies upon, old experienced players rather than young dynamic players, therefore unless there is a regular turnover of replacements there is only one direction the club can go in until it becomes unviable. I along with many other Palace fans reckon we have hit that point in time. He has to go and we need to replace probably at least 6 players.

You would view it as being a '' yes man '' but equally you could argue that Hodgson is working within the constraints of the financial situation at the club. Here's a quote from November last year ; Hodgson said: “This squad of players has aged together. They have played together, aged together and done a fantastic job. But one has to be realistic and accept that one day that’s going to catch up with us and, maybe, the fresh blood needs to be made available. “It’s something that the chairman and the owners are very aware of, and something that Doug Freedman and I are aware of, too.

Perhaps it’s wishful thinking on my part, but there seem to be signs that Hodgson will leave at the end of the season.

Its interesting I think to recognise that if Roy was at Leeds and Bielsa was Palace Manager neither teams would play the same way. Roy would not have the ability or willingness to play the Leeds way and Bielsa would not be able to execute his philosophy with our current crop of players. Leeds are set up to play their way. He couldnt do it at Palace. I'm not saying Leeds way is the best way to play football but he has a philosophy and vision of how he wants to play. Roy has the same way of thinking just far less imaginative and thinks about the opposition first. Bielsa is achieving this with largely Championship players. We have overpaid, unmotivated, aging players. I can recognise that. He should be doing better, by better I mean playing on the front foot, coaching the players to pass the ball to each other. The other thing is maybe we are underestimating the impact of having so many players and management teams futures undecided which is having a detrimental affect on performance. Maybe internally the players and Manager know its all change the end of the season. The problem I have with Hodgson is his inability to adapt or change. I couldnt care less about his age, that has no bearing on his ability, as long as he is clear of mind thats more than enough for me its just Roy will never change is just too stubborn. I'm disappointed if his last season ends in a drab farewell. I hope hes with us until the season finishes. Then we will join the rollercoaster, leap of faith whatever you want to call it and try to enter a new era. Its a risk. Having said that No Roy and if it was decided Wilf is allowed to move on its going to be very bumpy!

All I’m saying is that if the changes were made on a phased but regular basis then we would not be in this position. Shipping 2 out and bringing 2 in each window shouldn’t be beyond the wit of a well run club.

You were blaming Hodgson for the club's performance in the last 8 transfer windows. For all his faults, where Palace find themselves now ,with a squad of aging and out of contract players, is not down to Hodgson. Parish has painted himself into a corner with the way the club is being run. Ultimately he carries the can.

Mr Hodgson is of course the 'Lightning rod' but we have reached the stage whereby the campaign is in it's second half and we have a manager and several players out of contract at the end of the season.
