My only observation is that BJ was not rushed to a Nightingale hospital, (having swevered his Private Healthcar options) , but rushed to his own ward on an NHS/private unit. meanwhile, proper people are dying. Most people survive so i dont know what point you are making. He would have the same doctors bed staff and treatment. If he would have died not only would you be happy but it would ruin the stories of the nhs being bad or worse than private.

I heard a doctor on the wireless the other day saying he Hopes these extra pop up hospitals are the biggest white elephants ever. I second that no matter about the finance. If they are fully needed then we really are in the doo doo. Why celebrate failure? It's obvious to most of us that we need more staff and more beds even after this crisis is passed but right here and now what else was the government supposed to do?

Beds on any given day nationwide wasnt an issue. Staff and what hospital is busy maybe. If an incident occurs in a place with a small hospital theres not much can be done really.

Bit of a no-win situation there. How much praise would he have got for going into a private hospital? Exactly can you imagine the outcry had he gone private! If he did have his own ward, would this not be something to do with security? Don’t forget that all PMs get protection even after they leave office

Whatever you think of BJ this really is pretty low, I would like to think that posters from either side of the political spectrum condemn this, we shall see

It's quite a long article but is really interesting in looking at the different attitudes of economists and epidemiologists to the ways being used to deal with the crisis (both of which are represented on this board).
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |
