And he's not interested either.... From Sky Sports [Link] Saturday, 17 July 2004 by Nadia Carminati A spokesman for Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi has denied that he is interested in buying into Crystal Palace. Palace chairman Simon Jordan confirmed that he would listen to offers from Gaddafi - but now that seems unlikely. It had been reported that Gaddafi along with sons Muhamar and Saadi - who plays for Perugia in Italy - were looking at the prospect of buying into Palace, but this has now been denied. "Mr Gaddafi had been informed about the rumours that bounded him to a possible interest to buy Crystal Palace, but he knew nothing and he isn't involved in this situation," said the spokesman. Meanwhile, Saadi has confirmed his future lies with Perugia after he agreed a new one-year deal. Following Perugia's relegation he had been linked with a move away, but he has now joined the club for pre-season training.

If it goes as far as him making a bid, then think about doing something like that. Use your brain mate - it's speculation. And Gaddafi's denied it so..... You don't see fans protesting when they don't like a RUMOUR of a player they may be buying. Lighten up.

The club WOULD lose alot of faithful supporters who have stuck by palace through thick and thin. The fan base may well stay about the same, with new supporters coming in. I just hope that we are not being used in some sort of Political game. It shouldn't just be about money. I still feel on the whole, that it's a bad idea. As previously stated we could find ourselves alienated from the rest of the football world. Our new chant adapted from our Sth London neghbours could be: "We are Palace, We are Palace, Noone likes us, and we care"
I cant read and I cant rite, but that dont reely matta, 'cause I come from Swindum Tawn, I can drive a tracta. |

Now that it has been confirmed from the horses mouth that there is no substance to this story, will people now relax and take a chill pill? I am of the opinion that this Gaddafi 'interest' was a tad sexed up by Simon Jordan, so that he could attract more interest in the club. Jordan will not sell tis club to such an unpopular indivdual as Mr Gaddafi. Now relax and enjoy the pre season!
