You could just reply without the rudeness - I appreciate you have to dress up the s***e you're posting, but it's unnecessary. Eze has 2 assists this season from 20 appearances and who knows how many set pieces - he's averaging an assist every 750 minutes, or one every 8 or so games, as supposedly our most creative player. Bear in mind he offers next to nothing out of possession on top of that. I read he gave the ball away 20+ times last night - that's just not good enough. He's exceptionally talented, but is not remotely consistent, nearly always goes missing in big games, and does not consistently impact games anywhere close to the way Wilf used to. Well said, good post in every respect. Ebs is a very talented player but has been off his game recently. The stats for possession given away in the Forest & Bournemouth games are alarming for someone of his ability.

I'm guessing he won't lose possession so much against City - mainly because he won't have as much

I've noticed us getting more into the box but we still seem to not quite create any space in midfield.

Well last night summed up perfectly how poorly recruitment has been handled recently - I know we have some injuries to key players - but after 11 years at this level, we go to 'plucky little' Bournemouth, hardly take it to them and are as toothless again as a newly promoted side.

Yes, you would assume that, but I get the idea that same promise was made to many other managers in the past. But when September rolls around I can even almost hear the "Sorry, Steves out to lunch" excuses coming from the head offices.

I think you are falling into a trap by your labelling of Bournemouth. Unfashionable and with a small stadium, yes. But invested in ( £200m net spend over last 8 years ) and some very smart dealings in the transfer market by their version of DF, Richard Hughes, means they need to be taken as seriously as any club outside of the top 7/8. Last night looked to be heading for a 0-0 and I didn’t think either side had done enough to win the game. If there was to be a winner it would have had to be either a piece of individual brilliance or a mistake. Sadly for us I think there were two mistakes made, by OG for putting Ozoh on as a centre back and by Ozoh himself as he was out muscled by a more experienced opponent. It’s been a season long tale of woe in terms of injuries. It contributed to Hodgson’s downfall and has hampered Glasner’s efforts since he came in. The clubs recent decision to seek funding for player purchases against future sales indicate that Palace want to give Glasner the financial backing to reshape the squad. It should be an interesting summer

Of course Wilf has, and is a legend at the club, but anyone suggesting the Eze isn't a class player is ridiculous If we had a fit Wilf in our team on Saturday, City would need to worry about him.

Plus lots of bad decisions, the first one that springs to mind was when he was in the box had JP inside open, and tried to go round the defender himself He's better than that.

Could you not say that about the team as a whole? Of course playing better teams is generally more difficult, but no I don't think it's as extreme in other cases. Olise only has 9 PL goals but has managed goals against Chelsea, City & United. A selection of Wilf's career tallies would be; 4x against Utd Certain players and playing styles are better suited to different game types, and I think Eze really struggles to impact games against top sides, more so than you'd expect.

I always felt we were at our best when we had 2 flair players in the side at the same time, as it gave the opposition more problems (stretched them in defence both physically & mentally) I,m thinking Zaha & Bolasie as an example - fast forward to today, we are paying against better teams, better teams have more information than even before & know what to deal with, Eze has been our main / sole creative outlet this season, so gets closed down more / faster against the better teams - I would have hoped that when we have Olise' back in the starting 11 that will help because once again the opposition are dealing with the fast approaching skills of 2 very creative players. You're right though, that he needs to play in a better team.. but if our first 11 is ever available, then this team is good enough for him.
