I don’t worry, but I could if I chose to. You, and other posters here, seem to think that where someone lives impairs their ability to reason. It’s untrue. I have lived in many places in my life, some much more stressed than London. I can think. It doesn't impair your ability to theorise. It does impair your ability to appreciate subjective experience.

I have lived in places where I was advised not to enter certain areas, because I risked being killed or held and ransomed. Where one of my best friends was murdered when he tried to collect a debt. Where a security guard was shot dead in broad daylight a few moments after I was talking to him. Nothing theoretical involved.

Look upon those places as being culturally enriched. I do. I learned a great deal about how people from other cultures cope with adversity and can live happy lives whilst having very little by way of personal possessions. I have known people who live in spaces smaller than most of our garden sheds. No windows, sleep on the floor, no running water, cooking over twigs outside, bathing in the river, toileting in the woods. Whose primary task every day was to find enough food. But happy.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Do they get section 21 eviction notices?

Concepts such as legal protection for tenants, or landlords, are unknown. Fail to pay, you get physically evicted. Resist and you might be shot. Most though were squatting on land of uncertain ownership, or where flooding is frequent. Just in roughly constructed shelters which if destroyed by wind or water could be rebuilt, often by gathering up the materials and starting again. Communities build and work together, providing shelter if any survived until things were rebuilt. They had nothing of monitory value but a great deal of social value.
