I would love Frank, but dont think he would want it, available, i would go for Rodgers, but No1 choice would be Roy, Ray and Paddy

I haven’t read through this thread but please tell me you’re talking about Thomas Frank and not Lampard? Lampard is a man who had a 27% win ratio at Everton despite rather a lot of money and a 9.1% during his recent stint at Chelsea with a squad that Potter got almost 39% from. (Which in itself isnt brilliant).

Yes, Thomas, i should have phrased it better.

SP should offer Roy a one year deal as he has done an unbelievable job, coming in as he did in March with team morale at rock bottom.
Has the experience at every level to succeed and keep us in the Premiership, which is questionable with the likes of Vieira, Lampard , Gerrard and others.

I always thought that Potter would struggle at Chelsea. I think he is a great coach and plays attractive football. Over time as well his recruitment is generally good. However, at Chelsea they want instant success and where you have an interfering owner who is randomly signing players he was always going to find it difficult.

I think with the right backing here, he could well succeed. He'd certainly get us playing in a good style.

Potter’s style is very similar to PV’s, all talk and no trousers. If I am not mistaking did we not finish above Brighton every year he was there?

In Potter's final full season, 2021-22, Brighton finished in 9th place and attained a points total 3 pts in excess of our points tally. We finished in 12th place.

I think to us all Roy and his team are like a comfort blanket making us all feel safe. However as with young children they grow out of them and move on. As much as I would not mind Roy staying I can’t help but think we should be moving on. We have put our feet in the water with FDB and stepped back we did the same with PV and stepped back. This must now be the time to make the leap forward and for Parish to throw away his blanket and let the club move on in developing its playing style and ambition. My guess as to who it should be is not conclusive but Potter would surely not be a disaster.COYP

Thanks Willo. I was too lazy to look that up.

My preference would be Steve Cooper who has performed with great aplomb at both Swansea and Nottm Forest and had success with the England U17 team.

My only reservation with Cooper is looking at the games Forest played this season particularly away from home his set up was to me very defensive more of a hanging on not to lose rather than a plan to win. This might be because of the squad or I am just a bad judge but like Potter I could not envisage him being a disaster either. Whether he would come is another matter.COYP

He has a deal until 2025 so unless Forest want rid we'd have to buy him out of his contract (even if he wanted to join us). The way he sets his teams up is probably quite suited to our squad, but is he worth paying significant compensation for?

If you were a manager looking for a new role I would think we would be a pretty enticing project. We're a stable club with three current England internationals, plenty of exciting young players, a great youth setup and plenty of potential. If Roy doesn't get the job I expect there'll be plenty of interest. Also there's the prospect of doing the double over Brighton when they sell their best players and struggle to juggle Europe and the PL

Rodgers was always my top choice with Potter second. However, given that Rodgers was on 8m a year previously, we couldn't and shouldn't pay that.

Potter would be the ideal long term solution, in my eyes. He would be a slow starter as it takes his teams a while to get used to his style but I reckon in time he'd take us higher than we've been before.

He's also young and good with youth players which is going to be huge for us in the coming seasons.

Negative is that his sides don't always score loads but then our strikers don't score for anybody so that won't change anything.

All for getting him in.
