Processions should of course read "occasions"

All valid points & I would add to that Brendan Rodgers is an intelligent manager, he has had the opportunity to face Palace on a fair few processions both home & away giving him the chance to set his stall out accordingly - no doubt we went into the game with a plan, the opposition will also have their plan, in this instance its quite possible that each plan cancelled out the other one -

Just to be clear, Olise played 25 minutes, not 65.

Sorry, I just did not make myself clear, he came on at 65

Our midfield seems to getting overrun. Perhaps we haven't quite found the winning formula since Gallagher returned to Chelsea. At the moment I think we need a little more bite, and move the ball a quicker. Doucoure has shown glimpses of what he can do but is struggling to keep up. He rarely completes 90 minutes and already has 4 yellows to his name. There's been a few games where I thought he was a walking red card after already being booked. Unfortunately when you sign for Palace you have to hit the ground running, and at the moment I don't think he's a massive upgrade on what we already had.

Think we just had an off game. Noone looked up for It. Perhaps we looked at their recent form and mentally thought it'd be easier than it was.

The midfield is a concern, but its been the same since the beginning of the season, and it's never been that bad.

I'm willing to write that off as a bad day at the office, but I'll be looking for an improvement tonight.

Yep.

My feelings entirely.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We don't have a good enough midfield unfortunately.
We have not even begun to replace CG and with JMac out for good by the looks of it we are dumping a lot on Doucoure to deal with.
Eze and Olise are not guys who will track back and tackle properly and Ayew in midfield is not the answer.
We miss CG and Kouyate - what a mistake that was letting him go!
We need someone to take charge further up the field but I suspect we will have to wait until January.
In the meantime Doucoure must wonder what is happening!

I would disagree about the midfield being the same. We were playing Ayew on the left and then substituting him for Olise later in the match. Now we have both playing and I don't think it is working.

If we are to have both, I would rather see Olise on the wing and Ayew through the middle. I think we swapped them in the second half at Leeds to this and were much better. On Saturday I didn't see this switch and there was no improvement in the second half.

You have based the outcome of our recruitment policy on one game.
Andersen, Guehi and Olise have all been called up to represent their country based on performance for Palace.

It's very clear to me that our recruitment policy in the last window was well below par we needed at least a dynamic midfielder who link the defence and attack,RB who had pace and who can get back as well forward, can pass and tackle plus a striker who could get in to the box, who can anticipate and attack the ball in the six yard box.

On Saturday Ward was often done for pace as was Andersen as well, this was ably demonstrated by Vardy (who is no longer in his prime!).Maybe you should study our statistics overall to see they are not that great!

[Link] we spend 78% of our games time in the middle or our own defensive third of the pitch.

What we need to do is win tonight, if we do not then it is a worry that we are not taking enough points off the teams around us!
