Guess we can put this thread to bed. Despite a lot of bed wetting we were never in any serious danger of going down. The blip we suffered in December and January was been of an injury to Jimmy Mac and key players missing due to AFCON. Never thought we were going down,we can close this thread and start looking up the table. COYP

We're currently 10th in the first season with a new manager who has the task of rebuilding the squad and playing style. So far so good, and against Wolves we showed what we are capable of. Find that level of consistency and we'll be pressing for 8th and above.

When I read your post I thought of dozen scenarios that could reverse the bright future that you are hoping for. Each year we might get relegated and, at least in recent times, we have stayed up, let that be enough and enjoy the great football and drama we are producing.

Next season poses a few challenges, but one step at a time

After Norwich and Watford we were most peoples favourites to go down this year considering the massive turnover in players. All things considered we have had an excellent season and now a great chance to get to a FA cup semi final especially with Everton playing a game 2 days before ours to try avoid relegation. Our club is on a massive upward curve and with our recent transfers have been absolutely brilliant. If we can add some more quality to a few positions in the summer then we won’t be thinking about relegation next season at all.

With 33 points, even if we had a disastrous finish to the season and didn’t win another game, we still wouldn’t go down, we’d grind out another 3 or 4 points in draws which would keep us up. And please no-one mention Oldham, because I know what happened, I was at Arsenal at the end of that fateful week after celebration staying up the week before at the player of the year do Edited by monkey (06 Mar 2022 12.47pm)
