Take your pc joust elsewhere.

It's not a 'PC joust'. People have the right to question something they feel is inappropriate. Sorry if that offends you.

Goalpost 1 - you're on the money. We dont need to do the homophobic thing. Even if its linked to long-term winding up of Brighton fans. Lets get back to the thread and leave the homophobic stuff to one side.

AA isn't worth 20 million. Lets move on to the next targets! good window so far. glad the owners are keeping to budgets.

Seems that Blackburn are going to get Sotons player Micheal Oberfemi in return, not sure what the details are, but, can now understand why AA is going to Soton.

Being reported this is not part of the Armstrong deal and the Oberfemi transfer is a completely separate transaction that may or may not proceed.

If I were Newcastle's finance director I'd be looking at the price of that transfer very closely!

Unlike there's going to be much to look at really - it's being reported at around 20 mill plus add ons for Armstrong. Likely top end of market value really.

I know someone who was at the L.Orient academy with Obafemi.
Obafemi is lightning quick, in his mid teens he was the fastest in his Borough at the 100 metres.

I think 20m would have a bit toppy for Armstrong but strangely 15m would have been an excellent deal. Fine margins.

Anyway spilt milk and all that.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Would have been a really interesting addition to our squad but Hey - we’ve done great work this far and I’m loving the direction of travel, so in SP and Dougie I trust.

I reckon there’s some more really good signings still to come.

Southampton have basically swapped Ings for Armstrong .

He is either one hell of a player or Southampton have been mugged

We have brought in 2 central defenders to replace aged ones in the twilight of their careers.Olise untried in the top flight but so was Eze.Gallagher will provide energy but will collect a few yellows !

There are still concerns about the full-back positons and we haven't managed to bring in a striker but we have had not had any money from outgoing transfers and spent nearly £45 Million in the transfer market.

Very harsh Willo. Guehi, Anderson and Olise are 3 very talented young players with a decent level of 1st team experience. We could easily double that £45m investment in a few years if they perform. Just look at the Eze success. No doubt he’s worth £40m in this market with less than a year of Prem football.

If the rumours are to be believed, Saints are paying £20m plus add one. That is not a good deal for a championship striker with 1 year left on their contract. We won’t sign every player we bid for and we need to stick to our budgets.

Yes, we do need a few more before deadline but this squad is already better than the one that finished last season. Plus our wage bill is probably £400-500k a week lighter!

For avoidance of doubt I was not being critical of Messrs Guehi,Andersen and Olise.

I have concerns that we might be found wanting in certain areas and thus far we have not signed players in these roles. However as I stated we have already spent nearly £45 Mill in transfers and received nothing from sales.
