I like the fact that so unconvinced are we that Nketiah might come to us that no-one is even talking about it on the forum! Personally with JPM revitalised and Eduoard back fit I can't see us signing a striker at all. Although as it is no longer a priority we probably will now. The rumoured £40-50m is also way too much for a reserve striker and way outside of the club's budget I would imagine.

During the 'Transfer Window' one is subjected to a plethora of speculation/rumour/hogwash/phooey etc etc. Certainly provides the catalyst for debates ! I do not think that many of our supporters believe we would be willing to spend £40-50 Mill this 'Window' on a single player without any significant departures and I don't envisage any of our key players departing before the summer. I think the fact that Nketiah is rumoured to have turned us down twice already (if true) doesn't bode well for the prospect of a transfer being completed or if it does do we just end up with someone coming in who is only here because no one else wants him / doesn't want to be here & thinks he is billy big boots / better than he really is. Yes, I wish they would stop posting this story. I suspect we made an enquiry when he was even more fringe than he is now; we were rebuffed; and we never went back.

Wildly over-hyped player with an extortionate price tag. At his current goals/minutes in the PL this season, playing every single minute of the season would see him get 17.8 goals. To be worth the money they're quoting, he'd need to score at least as regularly as he does at Arsenal, in a much worse team.

He doesn’t strike me as being that good, his goals record was boosted by a hat trick against a struggling side earlier in the season. Not any better than we already have.

For £40m, I think it’s reasonable to expect a bit more, than runs about a bit looking enthusiastic!

Different rumours saying £30m - £40m. I must admit I don't really get it. He's 24 now, so not exactly 'one for the future', he should be one for now. 157 appearances for Arsenal and 38 goals, so roughly one in four strike rate. Never scored more than 5 PL goals in a season and his best was 5 in 19 last time. If you consider that City took advantage of a clause to sign Haaland for £50m, I'd be reluctant to pay more than £15-20 for Nketiah. I don't believe there isn't a player of a similar or greater quality who isn't available for far less outside the Premier League.

If Arteta is bemoaning the fact that his strikers aren't good enough, why would we want to sign on of them? If Nketiah isn't good enough for Arsenal he shouldn't be good enough for Palace, after all we are in the same division.
