Imo there are some very clever people employed to do what's best in our interests. Both for health and economical reasons. I have fortunately not been affected financially and but was amongst it when it was at its height, possibly around infected people by working in residential properties. If I were affected financially I may think different granted but I wasn't. How would you feel danh.

The thing is, how much difference is the 21st going to make? People can go to the pub, can go to work, can go anywhere. My little boy when to Thorpe Park yesterday and it was heaving. Outside of the rules regarding masks, what else actually changes that much? Maybe sporting events might still have limited numbers but probably only until the end of the month. What is pissing me off at the moment is the quarantine restrictions on return. Got tickets booked for July and am starting to worry I wont be able to get down to Croatia. Selfish, probably but I am indifferent to this 21st date.

Sounds like you’re desperate to absolve the government of any blame whatsoever. Personally, I’d be fuming, as should everyone. Mistakes are excusable, even more so in a fast changing, high pressure environment, but what is not forgivable is failing to learn from your mistakes. If June 21 gets pushed back it’s purely because of the spread of the Indian variant. A stringent border/quarantine policy that should have been put in place at the very start of this pandemic, and *still* isn’t would have kept us on track.

A lot of people looking forward to watching games in pubs without any restrictions and in full capacity stadiums following June 21. Edit: huge for the hospitality/indoor entertainment industries as well to have all restrictions lifted and to be able to operate at full capacity. Edited by DanH (28 May 2021 9.45pm)

It is inevitable that the relaxation of lockdown will increase the number of cases. There are still lots of people who have not had their first jab, and they represent a large proportion of those hospitalized in Bolton ad all the other areas with very large Asian populations. Case count isn’t the issue. Intensive care and hospital capacity are the issue. 100k case count and minimal hospital cases - no problem

Not trying to absolve anyone although I think we would still be in lockdown under labour which is my opinion on how they are more knee jerky than boris.
