Be careful what you wish for. The Chinese have been buying there way into many countries, for many years. I have witnessed it in pakistan and the Caribbean. They are not doing it for the good of anyone but themselves.
I had a long conversation with a chap who owned a British Cheesemaking factory, they had been approached by the Chinese for a visit with a view to a trade deal. The British company paid for everything for the Chinese. Basically it was a spying mission, the entourage was basically scientists, they had to stop them taking photographs of the factory, even attempted to take the temperature of the cheese etc so they could replicate the cheese and sell rather than deal with the company.
My daughters satellite company refuse to have Chinese visitations.
Why would you trust them after Wuhan?

It's not what I wish for. It's just a reflection of reality. I understand only too well how careful it is necessary to be but many western companies have been blinded by greed and the prospect of a huge market opening up to them. One big business I worked for established a subsidiary in China. Not to import and distribute but to manufacture and then serve the whole of SE Asia. Similar overseas subsidiaries always imported the key, secret ingredients from head office. The Chinese insisted on full formula disclosure and a majority local shareholding. Greed won and they foolishly agreed. It's this that needs to be tackled. Stopping the theft of intellectual property is essential but to continue to trade in a responsible way makes perfect sense too.

Are you one of those who suspect that the original outbreak was a deliberate act? What would the motive be? Why would the Chinese deliberately create an economic catastrophe in all their markets? Russia I could believe as Putin wants to disrupt the west in any way he can, but China? I don't get it.

TBH I am on the fence ( just call me Sir Kier) when it comes to the outbreak. I can see the Chinese starting it deliberately to see what effect it had on the Western World, you say you don’t get it but they have an increasing influence on the Western economy, and pandemic or not that influence will be going nowhere, as I have previously stated I do not trust them.
If it was accidental then why are they experimenting with live animals and why does the “civilised world” turn a blind eye to these horrendous markets?

I said it will be a witch hunt. Jobs lost, bank accounts closed, knock on the door, arrests for minor offenses. Anything to physcologically change peoples minds for the next election. The problem will be that the media wont report it as it isnt trump in charge and s***ting on their own doorstep is messy.

No it won't! It will be for all the people, even those who don't actually appreciate that. Especially when dealing with the immediate emergency of the pandemic. You know as well as I do that this must be dealt with although there are still many there that don't understand this.

Why on earth would the Democrats do the kind of things you suggest just to try to garner votes? They have no need to do it and wouldn't do it anyway. Despite your constant cynicism, the Democrats do have a moral backbone. So, by the way, do the Republicans. It's only Trump who thinks and acts like a mob boss.

Why would the Chinese deliberately release a virus?
1. To prove a point that they can affect the world's economies. They have the ability to recover far quicker than the western world and can 'pick up the pieces' afterwards. Watch for selected distressed companies being picked up cheaply by them.
2. As an alternative option to undermine America. They hold zillions of US dollars in foreign currency reserves. They could dump that overnight and destroy the buying power of the US dollar. (Hence maybe Trump was right to try and bring back manufacturing to the home market).
3. To distract from their various actions around the world... Hong Kong, Indian border disputes, South China Sea island building programme, Muslim internment camps, Tibet...
Personally, I reckon the virus is man made; that's why we are finding it so hard to stop it as it doesn't fit with normal viruses. Normally as they mutate they weaken, yet we are being told that the variants are stronger than the original.
I hope I am wrong on all of the above.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Trump was about reducing military involvement and he did. That policy was opposed by the Democrats.

So I think it's a little misplaced to suggest there is little difference....there has been a significant difference between the Democrats and Trump on this....it's not like it doesn't matter.

And the rewriting of history begins...

Out of Trump's nine bill vetoes while president, five were pro-war. As well as the above one - to end American support for the war in Yemen. He vetoed bills against war with Iran, two bills against arms sales to the Saudis, and another that would have stopped arms sales to UAE.

Biden is hardly in the chair. There is a strong section of Democrats that simple won't tolerate war from the President and would not vote through any movement in that direction. With the way things are balanced at the moment, any major change to foreign policy would require GOP support but there simply isn't the appetite even amongst the neo-liberals it seems. I'll be the first to criticise Biden for any war moves!

No, I'm sorry but you are reframing the reality....this is not what was said.

These are not wars that involve American lives, they are support for wars that involve American allies.

You may not agree with these acts and I may agree with you on most of them.....most of it involves back scratching along the lines of creating peace agreements with Israel....which worked.

However, Trump stuck to his word on starting no new wars....and you know he meant wars involving American troops...and when you reframe it to be support for any war you just disfigure the argument.

As for Biden on foreign wars involving the US military....we will see.

And again, I hear you on 'Biden's only just in the chair', but again, Trump was not afforded the same reasonableness....So what goes around comes around.

Not only is this an attack on the reality of biological sex but by including children in this they are active enablers of child abuse.

But hey...orange man bad.

The next Olympics is going to be an utter farce when it comes to women sports. However, it will be wonderful for the LOLZ. Imagine actually a real woman who has trained all her life only to be sidelined by some bloke who has just fixated on winning a medal and decides to identify as a female just to achieve that.

A tiny part of me feels sorry for the Lefties. I reckon loads of them find this lunancy as horrendous as the rest of us but they simply cannot do anything else other than play along with it. They are trapped by an orthodoxy of ideology that us on the Right cannot even begin to comprehend.
