Agree 100% here Same faces but new outlook. Townsend is one I’d highlight. Last season he was a marginal figure at best after a stinking 2018/19 season where for my money he was key - providing balance on the right and an alternative outlet from the back. That season we were among the highest scorers in the league in the also rans category. That was due in no small part to our ability to break quickly down either flank as opposed to last season where we were all to easy to stop as only the left and Wilf had to be covered by the oppo. The addition of Benrahma would give us another option and allow us to counter attack swiftly from a different angle. I’m a big fan of Schlupp and Ayew but the reality of this season with its fixture load is we will need alternatives to our front 4. Players with pace and direct goal threat either out wide or central are what we need. He covers h that base. Originally posted by doombear
Roy made it clear that the arrival of these two players has created competition for places up front and that has pushed the current incumbents to up their levels. As McCarthy says in the Everton programme, the difference this year is all about the formation in that 4-4-2 enables there to be an extra player up front and this has given us more bite in attack. The old faces have done the business so far and with Wilf in a more central position and Schlupp pushing forward more we look a different team. Getting back on thread, with dealings between PL and EFL clubs open till 16th October, still plenty of time for things to happen re Benrahma

This 'rumour' claims that talks are ongoing for Benrahma AND Brewster to make the move to Palace before the end of the window, fingers and toes crossed!

He made his first appearance off the bench yesterday. Perhaps he is staying?
