I like PVA but agree some of his defending has been poor this season. Why turn your back on Ward Prowse as he shoots pretty sure AWB would have blocked that.

Wilf? stupidity in the extreme.

Not that it will help us but restrospective ban on Stephens will endorse how useless Marriner was last night.

Glad someone spotted this too.
The more I watch it the more I am shocked of what he did.
He bloody turned his back on Ward-Prowse while he was shooting! Like academy kids that fear getting hit in the face!
I remember doing it as a 9-10 year old kid and I think they heard our coach yelling from the town center.
I am really shocked that a professional footballer can do this on a Premier match, no words...
If he just stayed in front of him, or better just throw himself on the ball he would have NEVER scored.
Totally agree, PVA is a good lad, but too much error prone.

PVA is not the bravest, he is no Colin Hendry.

I agree, you simply do not turn your back on a player about to pull the trigger in the 6 yard box. Instead what you do is put your body on the line and do everything you possibly can to stop that shot getting off.

There was a thread a while back about selling PVA to some club in Italy, and for over 10 million quid I would bloody bite their hand off and play old Scluppedy duppedy back there.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Just seen the highlights of the game and Ayew did absolutely nothing to close down one of their defenders on the half line from about 5 yards, just stood there with his hands on his hips, for the attack for their goal

Whatever we say about the referee, and he was truly awful, we cannot escape the fact that we threw away 2 points. Ward Prowse was in acres of space for an age to the build up for their goal . No-one closed him down.

Why Ayew was still on the pitch only Woy will know. But we also missed a hatful once again including that free header from Sakho which missed by a country mile. And someone needs to give Kouyate shooting practice. For a midfielder of his size to never get on the goal sheet is pretty poor.

Hodgson needs to know when to make substitutions. When are either Benteke or Wickham going to start?

That sums it up for me. The ref was s*** but we don't need to pile on the excuses.

I'm sick to death with Zaha's continual petulance and immaturity. This not only means he'll miss Fulham but the 1st yellow counts on his total, which is now 7 or 8. 10 gets him a 2 match ban and it will happen.

Hodgson should have seen what was happening and hooked him immediately Southampton equalised. The fact we only made 1 sub, to their 3 (again!!) was the main reason 2 points were dropped.

The BBC showed 6 fouls on Zaha, and Townsend, and they were all shocking. We only committed one bad foul in return. The ref had a dreadful game. Tomkins and Kouyate also injured. Bolasie is available. We might need him!

Exactly, he let the team down at a vital time in the season. I pray it doesn't cost us against Fulham.

You can blame the referee all you like. I can’t comment because I didn’t see the match, but the reason we didn’t get three points from that match has to be down to Hodgson’s appalling team selection and his inability to bring on the right substitutes at the right time yet again.

Unfortunately it wouldn't be the first time that's been a factor would it?
