Sako(done deal),Cabye and Bolasie,if also signed, have a multitude of strengths as ex players and must help to again keep us up in a challenging season. Whilst you may be right, unfortunately scoring goals isn't one of them. Personally I'd like us just to sign somebody who might be able to change this situation. I cannot see how any of those would make the difference to what we already have to staying up this season based on where we are now. 2 out of 3 had a chance to play with us this season but chose not to and left. Okay, at least we have gone from last January to strengthening the training 11 to this January to strengthening the bench. Who knows maybe next January we might strengthen the starting 11 ? But isn’t that precisely the thinking here? They are gambling on us having enough to stay up, as you say, and saving the budget for rebuilding in the summer. But as an insurance policy they are looking at these 3 players on short term, low cost deals, just to give us some extra depth in the remaining fixtures. It’s actually a very shrewd strategy for a club with limited funds. I’m with you on this one, if anything, those on short term deals will be trying their hardest to impress if they want it to be something other than short term. I’m probably referring to Sako and Bolasie here rather than Cabaye because he is only a 60 minute player max now anyway. It has to be beneficial in the short term.

Goalkeeping aside (let's hope Jules stays healthy), I'm not that worried and I'm with Kant on the strategy. We looked very good against Spurs playing a lot of subs (yeah, I know they were Spurs reserves, but they'd all probably step into our starting 11). With Dann and Wickham healthy and Sako back as a winger, I think we've got good cover to make it through the 15 remaining games. Rest-of-seasons deals are the way to go. Much better to make sensible long-term purchases in the summer than try to pay for/convince other teams leftovers to come to Palace.

Well guys I said we would be letting at least 7 go to free up wages there still is a possibility of 1 more that could go. In regards to incomings there will definitely be 1 but am hearing there could be up to 3. My guess is it will be 2. Definitely a striker as we only have 3 and of which have just come back from injury. As I say these will not happen till Thursday. Edited by dazza (28 Jan 2019 8.23pm)

Pleased that a striking option is on the cards.

From what I have been told they are likely to be a Striker, Midfielder and a defender however I think the defender is the unlikely one unless one leaves.
