Note to self: put aside a 'pony' to put on Solanke to score on 12 May 2019....

His you tube highlights didn’t impress me even for a loanee. Maybe be ok a few years down the line. Big risk and think we dogged a bullet on this one

Quite right. I do get fed up with this constant blind criticism. So much seems to me to be posted just purely out of spite or jealousy, One thing is certain - not one us us is in a position to know nor is any of us in or ever likely to be in, SP’s or RH’s positions!

Not arguing that, BUT why were we lied to(IMO) by Parish & RH, on TV about us pulling out of the deal in the 1st place, as others on here have already alluded to? Presumably, Parish was unaware of Bournemouth's interest and Liverpool were keen to get the best deal going for their player ... they don't need him so why not cash in because it's a seller's market? Maybe we were offered Solanke at a price but Parish and co made some daft excuses to cover our escape from the deal. It was far better to pay up to £17 million(?) for the likes of Sorloth after all!

Or maybe we have our eyes on bringing in two strikers and a winger and spending £19m on one will put a stop to that Yes a decent striker is a priority. But none of us truly know if he'll hit the ground running. None of us Bournemouth only bought him cos they can't loan Clyne and him We might get bhatsuyi, buy moses and another striker But this may take a few more days or weeks This slolanke deal is not bad news for us at all, if anything could end up a bit of good luck Edited by matthau (04 Jan 2019 7.01pm)

I am sure the manager wanted Solanke because of his ability, he will have recognised it as the player has had a start for England.

Another transfer f***ed up. What a surprise. Not really, Bournemouth are in a different situation to us. They have too many strikers, offloaded Defoe to free wages up and Wilson will be going to Chelsea for a big fee. They don't need Solanke to play for sometime as currently out with a groin injury.

Another transfer f***ed up. What a surprise. Seriously? We were obviously not looking to buy him, but, it is evident now that Liverpool wanted to sell. That, along with the fact that he is crooked meant it did not work out. How exactly does that make it f***ed up? Such petty anger man.
Most certainly not European. |

That would be fine were it not for Parish preening himself about this being in the bag and done and ghe fact that the moment we suddenly decide he's a "crock" another club swoops in and signs him for a large sum in five minutes flat. This to me just doesn't seem to add up. I don't have a go at Parish no matter what but it's worrying how often our transfers hit last-minute show-stoppers. Oh well, whit's fur ye'll no' go past ye, as they say up here.
