If United offer close to 60 mill (and sell-on clause) we should take it. Hopefully it will push Roy H to include more academy players in first team - they are the way forward for our club. Not (injury-prone) journeymen like Welbeck & Sturridge.

No. It sends out a signal to other players that we are still not a serious club. Money is secondary. Money is secondary is a naive statement in 2019 regarding the premier league. Remember when we almost went out of business? Money was as primary then as it is now. Players get sold all over the world, all the time, by “serious” clubs. We need to face reality regarding needing to sell one of AWB or Zaha. If we can get 50 mil only a fool would say no.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

£50mil is strong money, probably too good to turn down, but i'm not sure that this would be that good a move for AWB.

United offered 40 mill. We asked for 60 mill and they have come back with a second offer of 50mill. second bid shows there is intent from united to get their man and its not a derisory increase in the bid. They seem serious and I expect AWB to go now for something like 52 mill plus add ons which is good sensible business for us.

My prediction is AWB will be sold for £55m + £5-10m in add ons. Then the entire fan base will expect us to bring in 4 players for £50m and realistically we will bring in 1 or 2 signings for a combined £20m and a couple of free/loan signings and there will be a melt down that the club hasn't spent all the money.

I think you are right, If we got say £50m for AWB I reckon max £25m to be reinvested into the squad. That doesn’t get much, I mean it doesn’t even get you a decent right back theses days

Doesn't matter if we get 10 billion for one player, the club still has to work to the same wage budget, was we not at like 95% of our maximum last season with something like a 7 million increase every season. Will still be a great return on an academy player but need to get benteke off the books.

It will be £50m plus I suspect but if SP is clever enough he can do a deal on Wilf's settlement at the same time.

You are clueless. The quickest route to bankruptcy is to be relegated and the best way to achieve that is to sell your best players. The whole purpose of a serious football club is to improve the team. We can enlarge the squad with money but the quality of players you can buy is almost always determined by the status of the club.

It'd be a huge shame to see him leave, but it isn't everyday that Man Utd come knocking, regardless of what state they're in. If we can get £50M with the majority up front, then we have to think about accepting it. As much as he has been fantastic, losing a RB isn't as bad as losing a forward player (Zaha) IMO. As a few others have said on here, if we can invest, say £25M in the squad, that'd be a good step to strengthen other areas. We have done well to only really sell Bolasie since our time back in the Prem, so he'd go with my best wishes.
