He might be a good squad player on loan but would he ever get picked in front of Wilf or Andros?
Nope.

Perhaps our loan might be better used elsewhere.
I'd rather get Victor back if we are going for Palace old boys.

IMO, i think all 3 could be played in the same side.

Tekkers up front & then an attacking 3 of Yala, Andros & Wilf with JMac & Mili behind. Max & Kouyate can be used as either subs, or, rotated, even Schlupp can fall into that mix, along with Wickham & Ayew.

Just a thought.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

That lineup would be very weak defensively. You would need Kouyate instead of McArthur at a minimum

Dont disagree, thats why i said all of them could be used/rotated/sub as the game pans out(tho with Roys reluctance to use subs). Anyhoo it was just a thought & probably wont even happen.

What's up with this trend of claiming he wasn't a good player
? What a crock of smart arse nonsense - the Zaha/Bolasie attack was infamous for being one of the most formidable attacks in the league, a great duo that we struggled to replace.

Now though? We need to move on.

It's a pretty accurate claim, to be fair. He wasn't great.

Whether he was great or not, the issue is whether he is great now - or even good. My feeling is that he isn’t, and probably isn’t even up to PL pace.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

The yardstick against which any midfielder should be judged is one Schlupp, J.

He has popped up with some goals here and there, but he has been awful in many appearances, including his last.

I would put Yala in on crutches ahead of Schlupp when needing an impact sub to come in, make a difference, and get us back in a game.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I do not know how good he is now. What I do know is that the Bolasie / Murray / Zaha forward line was formidable.

Now, remind me again, who was it who decided to break up that forward line?

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

That is pretty harsh. You dont get signed for 26 million quid if you are rubbish.

His shooting and crossing improved immeasurably in his last 2 years with us.

I think it was Clyne who once said he was his least favorite player to face due to his power and unpredictability.

There is no doubt he has gone off the boil but I still think Bolasie at 75% is better than bringing on Jeff Schlupp to change the game when losing.

I think you find you can, there have been numerous players that have been purchased for silly money, only to turn out to be crap.
Some people may say, we have purchased some players not worth their purchase price.

I just watched these brief highlights of Yala against Leeds last month. It looks like maybe he still has something to offer and still has some great tricks.

Come on, let's bring him home

I would love him back with us for the rest of the season. Imagine being a full back looking at him coming off the bench with 20 mins to go knowing he is going to run the legs off you!
Also - given that Wilf might leave in the Summer and can never as such be replaced properly then he is not a bad stand in - for me anyway.

Was dismissive of this at first but for the right price I'd be interested - no, he's not going to start, but we need a player who can come off the bench and change games when we're chasing them. Yannick runs at defenders and causes chaos - just the kind of weapon we could use.
