Just reading NSC and it seems that Willo is actually correct. It is just the fault of the Palace fans (all of them, not a tiny minority) and brighton are not at fault at all.

I stand corrected.

Thank you for putting words into my mouth.

I never advocated that BHA were blameless at all, in fact I actually mentioned that if there is a case to answer for both the Police and BHA then this should be dealt with by the relevant authorities.

Of course not, but it's almost impossible to reconcile someone walking into the ground minutes before kick off, apparently without a care in the world, and Michaela's account, is it not? That would suggest that everything was absolutely fine, right up until kick off, which doesn't accord with what's been reported.

If I have have it right, Aquickgame turned up in a taxi by himself while Michaela was escoretd in a large group from the train station. So a large group arriving to gether would have caused a build up of supporters all trying to get in at the same time.I think Michaela was in a group escorted from the town centre to Brighton station then from Falmer to the ground. It does beg the question what time the police realised this group were not going to get to the ground on time and did they do anything to delay kick off.
Sorry realise this has already been responded to now

That's just typical Brighton fans for you.
They messed up something very simple because they couldn't handle a small group of unruly school kids then cast us all as scum and try and make a big drama about it.

So much for their liberal bohemian attitudes.

Probably the same type of people who preach about why we should punish criminal little s***s because the "had a hard upbringing" or "are from a bad area".

Just goes to show what pompous hypocritical t***s they all are.

This was all reasonably foreseeable and should have been easy to manage. I don't condone bad behaviour, but you have to realise it exists.

They're w***ers some of them. One wished it had been Hillsborough 2.0. examples of racism and other w***ery. But of course, their reputation as an 'accepting' city makes them the darlings of certain media.

It was apparent to all of us we would be late. I have a photo I took inside Brighton station in a que to get on the train to falmer and that was taken at 19.20hrs. We arrived at falmer according to my camera at 19.38 and the ground was well in the distance with none of us moving anywhere

Michaela, make sure you write to the FSF. Even better coming from a female, especially the heavy handed cr&p.

Yes, it looks like the club weren't as prepared as they could have been for a gang of posturing scumbags without tickets rushing the gate. Maybe that's because it hasn't happened before in the 5 years since the Amex opened. I'm sure there'll be lessons learned assuming both clubs stay up ;-)

I really feel for the genuine fans caught up in all this crap, and think the police didn't help matters with all their willy waving outside, but this sort of thing is usually fairly easy to avoid if you keep your head down and your gob shut for 10 minutes between getting close to the ground and getting through the turnstiles.

If Palace come back to the Amex next year (as a neutral, I hope they do, and in the Premier League), then my advice would be to avoid the trains, particularly from Brighton Station if at all possible.

Pre match you in a town centre pub taken over by Palace and advertised this was planned in advance?
